METHOD FOR TREATING ACNE USING LASER
Disclosed is a method for treating acne using a laser, and the method includes: positioning a handpiece on a skin surface where the acne is located; and irradiating a therapeutic light through the handpiece to denature some tissues beneath the acne.
METHODS AND DEVICES FOR AESTHETIC TREATMENT OF BIOLOGICAL STRUCTURES BY RADIOFREQUENCY AND MAGNETIC ENERGY
A device for providing a magnetic treatment by evoking muscle contraction by a time-varying magnetic field and providing a RF treatment by heating biological structure. The device may provide a pressure treatment. The device includes an applicator having an RF electrode and a magnetic field generating device. The device may also include a main unit, a human machine interface, and a control unit. The control unit adjusts a signal provided to the RF electrode and creates an RF circuit, and also adjusts the signal provided to the magnetic field generating device and creates a magnetic circuit electrically insulated from the RF circuit. The RF circuit may include a power source and a power amplifier, and the magnetic circuit may include an energy storage to supply the magnetic field generating device with electric current.
Force sensing catheter system
Aspects of the present disclosure are directed toward systems and methods for detecting force applied to a distal tip of a medical catheter. In some embodiments, a medical catheter with a deformable body near a distal tip of the catheter deforms in response to a force applied at the distal tip, and a force sensor detects various components of the deformation. Processor circuitry may then, based on the detected components of the deformation, determine a force applied to the distal tip of the catheter.
METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING AN ELECTRODE ASSEMBLY CONFIGURED FOR USE WITH AN ELECTROSURGICAL INSTRUMENT
A method for manufacturing an electrode configuration configured for use with an electrosurgical instrument is provided. A pre-assembled jaw configuration including jaw members including respective first and second electrodes is provided. One or more stop members are positioned on the first electrode. The first and second electrodes are approximated toward one another for contact therebetween so as to form an at least one indentation on the second electrode.
DEVICE AND METHOD FOR LUNG TREATMENT
This invention relates to the treatment of a patient's lung, for example, a lung exhibiting chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and in particular to methods and devices for affecting lung volume reduction, preferably for achieving acute or immediate lung volume reduction following treatment. The lung volume reduction is effected by delivering a condensable vapor at a temperature above body temperature to the desired regions of the patient's lung to damage tissue therein. Blood flow and air flow to the damaged tissue region is essentially terminated, rendering the target region non-functional. Alternative energy sources may be used to effect the thermal damage to the lung tissue.

SYSTEMS, APPARATUSES, AND METHODS FOR MEMORY RECALL AND REACTIVATION BY TARGETED STIMULATION
Systems, apparatuses, and methods for memory recall and reactivation by targeted stimulation are provided. Systems, apparatuses, and methods are described for providing patterns of a reinforcing cue re-presentation during sleep. Systems, apparatuses, and methods are also described for determining patterns of a reinforcing cue for re-presentation during sleep. Systems, apparatuses, and methods are also described for determining reinforcing cues for re-presentation during sleep. Systems, apparatuses, and methods are also described for determining and predicting sleep intervals based only on sleep onset.
ELECTROSURGICAL INSTRUMENT WITH DUAL RADIOFREQUENCY AND MICROWAVE ELECTROMAGNETIC ENERGY
An electrosurgical instrument for delivering radiofrequency (RF) electromagnetic (EM) energy and microwave frequency EM energy from a coaxial feed cable through an instrument tip into tissue. The instrument tip comprises a dielectric body separating first and second conductive elements, which act as active and return electrodes to convey the RF EM radiation by conduction, and as an antenna to radiate the microwave EM radiation. The instrument also has a fluid feed incorporated into its tip, e.g. in an additional dielectric element mounted on the underside of the tip, for delivering fluid. The delivered fluid may be a gas plasma to assist treatment or a liquid to plump up a tissue region before treatment. The instrument may fit in an endoscope.
