Method for manufacturing laminated molding, and laminated molding
A method for manufacturing an additively-manufactured object, includes: an additively-manufacturing step of building a layered body by depositing a weld bead obtained by melting and solidifying a filler metal, the layered body having an opening along a forming direction of the weld bead and an internal space surrounded by the weld bead; and a closing step of forming a closing wall portion connecting an edge portion of the opening with the weld bead for closing. In the additively-manufacturing step, the opening is formed with a width dimension larger than a bead width of the weld bead, and in the closing step, the closing wall portion having a width dimension larger than the bead width is formed by the weld bead to close the opening.
Floating Roof for Storage Tanks
Embodiments relate generally to a floating roof for use in storage tanks. A floating roof may comprise a plurality of pontoons arranged to form the floating roof. The pontoons may each comprise a lower panel, a plurality of outer walls disposed at the edges of the lower panel, and a plurality of stiffeners disposed adjacent the lower panel. Attachment points attached to the floating roof, wherein the attachment points are configured to couple the floating roof to a storage tank.
HIGH TEMPERATURE SUPER INSULATED CAVITY FOR COOKING APPLICATIONS
A vacuum insulated oven cabinet includes a cavity body having an exterior surface. An insulation structure having one or more vacuum insulated panels may have the insulation structure welded to the exterior surface of the cavity body. The one or more vacuum insulated panels may have a hermetically sealed envelope encasing a vacuum core material.
Additive manufacturing of building and other structures
Freeform, additive manufacturing equipment, processes and products, including residential, commercial and other buildings. A movable extruder places extrudate that solidifies in open space to create scaffolding or skeletons of buildings and other products. Elongated extrudate elements are fused to each other or connected by other means to form a cellular structure. Filler material such as polymeric insulating foam may simultaneously or thereafter be placed within the cellular structure to contribute desired strength, rigidity, insulative, barrier or other properties. Finish materials may also be applied.
Method of manufacturing metal containers
A method of manufacturing a container includes positioning metals plates against one another to define an interior space, filling the interior space with a granular refractory material and welding the seams between the plates to form a fluid tight container.
Pressure tank, gas insulated switchgear using same, and pressure tank manufacturing method
To obtain a pressure tank that achieves a high manufacturing efficiency and does not hamper storage of an open/close portion such as a vacuum valve in a pressure tank. A pressure tank of the present invention includes: a tank body having at least one penetrating slit-shaped mortise and having a space formed inside the tank body; a reinforcing member having a tenon portion formed at an end thereof so as to be directed in one direction, and having an electric field relaxation portion on a side opposite to the tenon portion, the reinforcing member being attached to an inner wall surface of the tank body with the tenon portion inserted into the mortise; and a welding portion sealing and fixing the mortise and the tenon portion with no gap therebetween, the welding portion being formed by melting an end of the tenon portion from outside of the tank body.
METHOD FOR ADDITIVE MANUFACTURING NACELLE INLET LIPSKINS
An apparatus for fabricating a part, comprising a curved shaft; a build plate connected to the curved shaft; a motor; and a transmission connecting the motor and the curved shaft. The build plate moves along a curved path having a radius of curvature originating on an axis when the transmission transfers power from the motor to the curved shaft. Material deposited on the build plate along the curved path forms the part comprising a solid of revolution around the axis. In one or more examples, the part is an aircraft engine inlet.
Butt jointed closed section hollow structural element
A method is provided which forms a closed section hollow structural element by performing the following steps which include press forming an upper sheet metal component configured with two primary parallel downstanding interface flanges; press forming a lower sheet metal component configured with two primary parallel upstanding interface flanges; complementarily trimming the downstanding interface flanges and the upstanding interface flanges using five-axis laser cutting; and butt welding the interface flanges of the upper and lower sheet metal components to one another to form a continuous hollow structural element of variable cross section.
Multilayer Component and Method for the Manufacture Thereof
The invention relates, among other things, to a component including at least one base plate, at least one cover plate arranged on the base plate, at least one damping layer arranged between the base plate and the cover plate and at least one stiffening element. The base plate is free from the cover plate and the damping layer at least in sections on the cover plate side in a connection area, and the stiffening element is connected to the base plate and the cover plate on the cover plate side in the connection area. The invention further relates to a method for the manufacture of a component and a use of a component.
