A method of selecting skin treatment regimens, ingredients and compositions that includes measuring the levels of particular small molecule metabolites on skin both before and after product application and testing for a change in small molecule metabolite levels is disclosed.

The invention relates to novel nature-derived and synthetic active peptide- or peptide-derived agents designed for the cosmetic treatment of the human skin, as well to cosmetic formulations and compositions containing them. The active agents are effective in restoring, promoting and maintaining a healthy skin. In particular, the invention discloses combinations or sets of said skin effective agents including stem-cell factors that modulate the skin micromilieu and modulate skin stem cell behaviour, thereby effectively healing, regenerating and improving the state of aged or damaged skin.

A chemically anisotropic powder with improved emulsion dispersion stability, and a cosmetic composition containing the same are disclosed in the present specification. The chemically anisotropic powder has a first polymer spheroid and a second polymer spheroid coupled in such a structure in which one polymer spheroid at least partially penetrates the other polymer spheroid, wherein any one of the first polymer spheroid and the second first polymer spheroid comprises a polymer containing siloxane, and one or more of the first polymer spheroid and the second first polymer spheroid are negatively or positively charged, thereby having effects of preventing phase separation even with a minimum amount of a thickening agent and enabling a toner type low-viscosity form containing a high oil content, the toner type low-viscosity form having yet to be applied.

An object of the present invention is to provide an aerosol product for forming a warming cream composition which is capable of achieving excellent dispersion stability of hydration exothermic substance powder and of easily forming a warming cream composition having a sufficient warming effect. Provided herein are a cosmetic composition, a health functional food composition, a pharmaceutical composition, and a quasi-drug composition that include ionone or a salt thereof as an active ingredient and have an effect of enhancing skin moisturizing, exfoliating skin, improving skin elasticity, inhibiting erythema, improving skin wrinkles, or alleviating skin photoaging. The ionone or the salt thereof has an activity of enhancing skin moisture content, reducing skin moisture evaporation, increasing procollagen secretion, promoting collagen biosynthesis, suppressing collagen fiber damage, suppressing collagen fiber decomposition, inhibiting erythema, and suppressing the thickening of a skin epidermis layer, and thus may be usefully used as a material of functional cosmetics, health functional foods, pharmaceuticals, quasi-drugs, or the like that provide an effect of enhancing skin moisturizing, exfoliating skin, improving skin elasticity, inhibiting erythema, improving skin wrinkles, and/or alleviating skin photoaging.

The present invention relates to microcapsules with a core-shell or matrix morphology stabilized by cross-linked nanoparticles. A process for the preparation of said microcapsules comprising selecting internal crosslinking of a Pickering emulsion is also an object of the invention. A cream formulation or topical use made of a mixture of naturally occurring biologically active phytochemical compounds that possess a variety of beneficial animal and human health effects. An extract from an aqueous extraction process or other active ingredients could be used in the cream formulation. The present invention generally provides for the preparation of cream formulations containing active ingredients that contain individually, or in combination, an analgesic, natural product extracts, or a protein or proteins from the tripartite motif family of proteins (TRIM). The analgesic will provide mitigation of pain during the healing process.

Compositions, kits, and methods for repairing bonds, for example, disulfide bonds, in hair or on the skin are disclosed. The compositions provide improved conditioning benefit for dry hair or moisturize the skin. The compositions also provide a long lasting moisturized feel and smooth feel to the skin or hair, without feeling greasy. The compositions contain one or more compounds that covalently bind at least two thiol groups in the hair or on the skin. Use of the binding compositions prevents reversion of the repaired bonds to their free thiol state, for at least one week or one month, or more, after a single application of the composition. Improved methods of styling hair, for example permanent hair waving, hair curling, hair coloring or highlighting, and hair straightening, are also provided.

A composition for and methods of preserving a topical cosmetic, toiletry or pharmaceutical formulation against microbiological contamination or growth are described in which the compositions used herein include at least one hydroxamic acid, salt or complex thereof, and the methods include addition of an effective amount of such compounds to a cosmetic, toiletry or pharmaceutical formulation. Compositions further including alkanediols and/or solubilizing agents in blends with hydroxamic acid are also described.
