Folding knife embodiments are disclosed herein comprising a blade operable to pivot relative to a handle, between an open position and a closed position, a blade-locking member disposed in the handle and being moveable in a first direction between an unlocked position and a locked position to retain the blade in at least one of the open or closed positions. The folding knife may further comprise a safety member mounted on the blade-locking member and being moveable relative thereto in a second direction between a release position and a safety position. Wherein when the safety member is in the safety position, the safety member and the blade-locking member are blocked from moving in the first direction, and wherein when the safety member is in the release position, the safety member and the blade-locking member can be moved in the first direction to move the blade-locking member to the unlocked position.

An automatic opening tool with sliding scale release, including a modular body; a tool; a gear assembly attachable to the tool; a first resilient member for rotating the tool; a sear configured to mate with the gear assembly; a second resilient member for imparting a resilient force to the sear; and cover plates.

Folding knife

The invention discloses a folding knife, comprising: a blade, whose upper part is configured with a lockup switch mounting hole; a handle, whose lower part is configured with a stopping slot; a lockup switch provided in the lockup switch mounting hole and having a lockup part located on the first side of the blade, the lockup part has a lockup position at which it is clapped in the stopping slot when the blade and the handle are buckled up and an unlock position at which it is released from the stopping slot when the blade is separated from the handle. The folding knife of the invention enables safe locking after the blade is folded in the handle by making use of the lockup switch having a lockup part, the structure of the folding knife is simple and easy to implement, and safety performance of the folding knife is improved.

Rotational wedge locking mechanism for a folding knife
09943970 · 2018-04-17 · ·

A locking mechanism for a folding knife is provided. More specifically, the locking mechanism is a rotational wedge locking mechanism that maintains the folding knife's blade in an extended position and prevents the blade from inadvertently closing when the knife is in use in the extended position. The rotational wedge locking mechanism also impedes the folding knife from inadvertently opening when the blade is in a closed position of storage. The rotational wedge locking mechanism generally comprises a lock pin, a means for moving the lock pin, and a biasing member, which work in conjunction with the tang of the blade and the back spacer to securely retain the folding knife in an open or closed position.

Locking mechanism for a folding instrument

A folding knife, including a handle, with at least two parts connected to form a cavity therebetween, and a blade having a sharpened edge and a tang. The blade is rotatable between an open position and a closed position. The blade defines a first plane inside the cavity. The tang includes a step protrusion and a rounded protrusion. A stop pin restricts movement of the blade in an opening direction. The folding knife also includes a locking member rotatable from a first position, allowing the blade to rotate, to a second position blocking rotation of the blade by engaging one of the tang's protrusions. The engagement of the locking member with the step protrusion of the tang locks the blade in its open position, and the engagement of the locking member with the rounded protrusion of the tang locks the blade in its closed position.

Folding knife assembly

A folding knife assembly includes a blade system which is disposable between an open configuration and a closed configuration using a single hand. The blade system includes a fixed blade portion and a movable blade portion, wherein the fixed blade portion and moveable blade portion are cooperatively structured to engage one another in an interlocked configuration when the blade system is disposed in an open configuration. The folding knife assembly also includes a positioning assembly structured to facilitate disposition of the blade system between an open configuration and a closed configuration. A locking assembly is provided and is structured to operatively engage at least a portion of the positioning assembly to releasably secure the blade system in the open configuration, and to operatively disengage the positioning assembly to permit disposition of the blade system into a closed configuration.

KNIFE CONFIGURED TO RECEIVE BLADE SECURELY AND SAFELY

The present invention is to provide a knife configured to receive a blade securely and safely in a handle thereof. The handle is assembled at least from first to third plates. The blade has one end pivotally connected between the second and third plates. The first plate has a switch groove extending in a front-rear direction and configured to position a locking switch. The second plate has a positioning hole corresponding to the switch groove. A positioning member (e.g., a steel ball) is engaged in the positioning hole. When the blade is received in the handle, an engaging hole in the blade corresponds precisely to the positioning hole so that a user can push the locking switch against a top portion of the positioning member, and consequentially for enabling a bottom portion of the positioning member to extend into the engaging hole, thereby fixing the blade and preventing the blade from exposure.
