Exhaust gas purification system for a gasoline engine
Subject of the invention is an exhaust gas purification system for a gasoline engine, comprising in consecutive order the following devices: a first three-way-catalyst (TWC1), a gasoline particulate filter (GPF) and a second three-way-catalyst (TWC2), wherein the oxygen storage capacity (OSC) of the GPF is greater than the OSC of the TWC2, wherein the OSC is determined in mg/l of the volume of the device. The invention also relates to methods in which the system is used and uses of the system.
Exhaust-gas purification system of internal combustion engine
An exhaust-gas purification system of an internal combustion engine includes an electrically heated catalytic device and a three-way catalytic device. The electrically heated catalytic device includes a first honeycomb base having a large number of honeycomb passages and a first catalyst component that is supported on, by a predetermined thin-film treatment, surfaces that define the honeycomb passages and that contains one or more types of noble metals. The three-way catalytic device includes a second honeycomb base having a large number of honeycomb passages and a second catalyst component that is supported on surfaces defining the honeycomb passages and that contains one or more types of noble metals. The total noble metal content per unit volume of the second honeycomb base is higher than the total noble metal content per unit volume of the first honeycomb base.
CONTROL SCHEMES FOR THERMAL MANAGEMENT OF POWER PRODUCTION SYSTEMS AND METHODS
The present invention relates to systems and methods for controlling a power production plant and optionally providing a one or more product streams for an end use thereof. Control of a power production plant specifically can include executing one or more functions effective for adjusting a heat profile of a heat exchange unit (HEU) operating with a plurality of streams passing therethrough. This can include implementing a control function that alters a flow of one or more of the plurality of streams by adding flow to or withdrawing flow one or more of the plurality of streams at an intermediate temperature range within the HEU at a point that is positioned between a first end and a second end of the HEU.
Catalytic articles
Provided herein is a catalytic article including a catalytic coating disposed on a substrate, wherein the catalytic coating comprises a bottom coating on the substrate and a top coating layer on the bottom coating layer, one such coating layer containing a platinum group metal on a refractory metal oxide support and the other such coating layer containing a ceria-containing molecular sieve. Such catalytic articles are effective toward treating exhaust gas streams of internal combustion engines and exhibit outstanding resistance to sulfur.
EXHAUST GAS PURIFICATION CATALYST DEVICE
An exhaust gas purification catalyst device comprising a base material and a catalyst coating layer provided on the base material, wherein the catalyst coating layer contains zeolite particles, inorganic oxide particles other than the zeolite particles, and a catalyst precious metal, and the ratio d.sub.ZEO/d.sub.OX between the average particle diameter d.sub.ZEO of the zeolite particles and the average particle diameter d.sub.OX of the inorganic oxide particles other than the zeolite particles is 3.4 or less.
PLUGGED CERAMIC HONEYCOMB BODIES WITH PREFERENTIAL CATALYST LOADING AND METHODS OF MANUFACTURING THEREOF
A catalyst-coated, plugged honeycomb body having a honeycomb structure with a matrix of porous walls forming a plurality of channels, at least some of the plurality of channels being plugged to form inlet channels and outlet channels. At least some of the porous walls are filtration walls and at least some of the porous walls are non-filtration walls. A catalyst is preferentially disposed on the non-filtration walls, wherein the catalyst being preferentially disposed comprises CR<0.2 wherein CR is a coating ratio defined as an average percent loading of a washcoat containing the catalyst on and within the filtration walls divided by an average percent loading of the washcoat containing the catalyst on and within the non-filtration walls. Methods and apparatus configured to preferentially apply a catalyst-containing slurry to the non-filtration walls are provided, as are other aspects.
Methods and system for controlling selective catalytic reductant catalyst of a gasoline engine
Systems and methods for controlling a gasoline urea selective catalytic reductant catalyst are described. In one example, an observer is provided that corrects an estimate of an amount of NH.sub.3 that is stored in a SCR. The amount of NH.sub.3 that is stored in the SCR is a basis for generating additional NH.sub.3 or ceasing generation of NH.sub.3.
Exhaust gas purification system for a gasoline engine
An exhaust gas purification system for a gasoline engine is described the system comprising in consecutive order the following devices: •a first three-way-catalyst (TWC1), a gasoline particulate filter (GPF) and a second three-way-catalyst (TWC2), •wherein the oxygen storage capacity (OSC) of the GPF is greater than the OSC of the TWC1, wherein the OSC is determined in mg/l of the volume of the device.
Hydrocarbon adsorbent
