LAYERED CATALYTIC ARTICLE AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURING THE CATALYTIC ARTICLE
The presently claimed invention provides a layered catalytic article and an exhaust system. The catalytic article comprises a first layer comprising platinum, a first platinum group metal component other than platinum, a ceria-alumina composite, and an oxygen storage component; wherein platinum is supported on the ceria-alumina component; the platinum group metal component is selected from palladium, rhodium or a combination thereof and the platinum group metal component is supported on the oxygen storage component; a second layer comprising a second platinum group metal component; and a refractory alumina component, an oxygen storage component or a combination thereof; wherein the second platinum group component is selected from platinum, palladium, rhodium or a combination thereof; and a substrate, wherein the amount of platinum is 10 to 80 wt. %, based on the total weight of platinum, palladium and rhodium. The presently claimed invention also provides a process for the preparation of a layered catalytic article and use of the catalytic article and the exhaust system for purifying a gaseous exhaust stream comprising hydrocarbons, carbon monoxide, and nitrogen oxides.
NOx adsorber catalyst
A NO.sub.x adsorber catalyst and its use in an emission treatment system for internal combustion engines, is disclosed. The NO.sub.x adsorber catalyst comprises a first layer consisting essentially of a support material, one or more platinum group metals disposed on the support material, and a NO.sub.x storage material.
Multi-region catalysts for CNG engine exhaust gas treatments with improved ammonia leakage control
A three-way catalyst article, and its use in an exhaust system for compressed natural gas engines, is disclosed. The catalyst article for treating exhaust gas from compressed natural gas (CNG) engine comprising: a substrate comprising an inlet end, an outlet end with an axial length L; a first catalytic region beginning at the outlet end and extending for less than the axial length L, wherein the first catalytic region comprises a first PGM component; and a second catalytic region beginning at the inlet end, wherein the second catalytic region comprises a second PGM component; wherein the first PGM component comprises palladium, platinum, or a combination thereof; and wherein the second PGM component comprises rhodium.

LOW BULK DENSITY, HIGH GEOMETRIC SURFACE AREA HONEYCOMB BODIES
Ceramic honeycomb bodies and methods for then manufacture are provided. The ceramic honeycomb body comprises a bulk density of less than 210 g/L, a geometric surface area (GSA) greater than 93 in.sup.−1 (3.66 mm.sup.−1), a mechanical integrity factor (MIF) greater than 0.28%, and a back pressure factor (BPF) greater than 0.4 mm.sup.2.
EXHAUST GAS HEATING UNIT
The disclosure is directed to an exhaust gas heating unit for an exhaust gas system of an internal combustion engine. The exhaust gas heating unit includes at least one electrically conductive heating conductor element, wherein the at least one electrically conductive heating conductor element is configured from bent flat strip material. The exhaust gas system conducts exhaust gas defining an exhaust gas primary flow direction (H). The heating conductor element can have a plurality of broad sides arranged to be substantially parallel to the exhaust gas primary flow direction (H) and a plurality of end faces arranged substantially orthogonally to the exhaust gas primary flow direction (H).
EXHAUST PURIFICATION FILTER
The present invention provides an exhaust purification filter with which pressure loss can be reduced, the filter having high exhaust purification performance and granular-substance-filtering performance. The exhaust purification filter comprises a filter base material having a wall flow structure, and an exhaust purification catalyst supported on a dividing wall of the filter base material, the exhaust purification filter being such that: a median pore diameter (D50) of the filter base material according to a volumetric basis is 15 μm or greater; and the exhaust purification catalyst is unevenly supported on a high-density layer, in which the density of the exhaust purification catalyst is relatively high, and a low-density layer, in which the density of the exhaust purification catalyst is relatively low.
LAYERED TRI-METALLIC CATALYTIC ARTICLE AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURING THE CATALYTIC ARTICLE
The presently claimed invention provides a tri-metallic layered catalytic article comprising: a) a top layer comprising platinum supported on at least one of an oxygen storage component, zirconia component and an alumina component, and rhodium supported on an oxygen storage component; b) a bottom layer comprising a front zone and a rear zone, said front zone comprising palladium supported on an oxygen storage component and an alumina component, and the rear zone comprises platinum supported on at least one of an alumina component, a ceria component, and an oxygen storage component; and c) a substrate, wherein the weight ratio of palladium to platinum is in the range of 1.0:0.4 to 1.0:2.0.
Diesel oxidation catalyst and exhaust system
An oxidation catalyst for treating an exhaust gas from a diesel engine, which oxidation catalyst comprises: a first washcoat region comprising platinum (Pt), manganese (Mn) and a first support material; a second washcoat region comprising a platinum group metal (PGM) and a second support material; and a substrate having an inlet end and an outlet end; wherein the second washcoat region is arranged to contact the exhaust gas at the outlet end of the substrate and after contact of the exhaust gas with the first washcoat region.
EXHAUST SYSTEM FOR AN AMMONIA-BURNING COMBUSTION ENGINE
The present invention relates to a system for ammonia combustion and exhaust gas treatment, the system comprising: an internal combustion engine for combusting ammonia; and an exhaust system comprising an intake for receiving an exhaust gas from the combustion engine, an upstream injector for adding hydrogen gas to the exhaust gas and a downstream catalyst article, wherein the downstream catalyst article comprises a three-way catalyst (TWC) composition. The invention further relates to a method for the treatment of an exhaust gas from an ammonia internal combustion engine.
