An exhaust aftertreatment system for an internal combustion engine includes an outer casing having an exhaust gas inlet and an exhaust gas outlet between which a fluid flow path for exhaust gases is provided, a selective catalytic reduction unit provided in the fluid flow path for reducing nitrogen oxides, a reductant dosing device for adding reductant to the exhaust flow upstream of the selective catalytic reduction unit, and a rotatable mixer device for mixing the reductant with exhaust gases upstream of the selective catalytic reduction unit, an air inlet valve provided upstream of the mixer device for introducing air into the fluid flow path, and an electric motor arranged for rotating the mixer device to create a suction of air into the fluid flow path via the air inlet valve.

Subject of the invention is an exhaust gas purification system for a gasoline engine, comprising in consecutive order the following devices: a first three-way-catalyst (TWC1), a gasoline particulate filter (GPF) and a second three-way-catalyst (TWC2), wherein the oxygen storage capacity (OSC) of the TWC2 is greater than the OSC of the GPF, wherein the OSC is determined in mg/l of the volume of the device. The invention also relates to methods in which the system is used and uses of the system.

A composite, zone-coated, dual-use ammonia (AMOX) and nitric oxide oxidation catalyst (12) comprises: a substrate (5) having a total length L and a longitudinal axis and having a substrate surface extending axially between a first substrate end (I) and a second substrate end (O); two or more catalyst washcoat zones (1; 2) comprised of a first catalyst washcoat layer (9) comprising a refractory metal oxide support material and one or more platinum group metal components supported thereon and a second catalyst washcoat layer (11) different from the first catalyst washcoat layer (9) and comprising a refractory metal oxide support material and one or more platinum group metal components supported thereon, which two or more catalyst washcoat zones (1; 2) being arranged axially in series on and along the substrate surface, wherein a first catalyst washcoat zone (1) having a length L.sub.1, wherein L.sub.1<L, is defined at one end by the first substrate end (I) and at a second end (13) by a first end (15) of a second catalyst washcoat zone (2) having a length L.sub.2, wherein L.sub.2<L, wherein the first catalyst washcoat zone (1) comprises a first refractory metal oxide support material and one or more platinum group metal components supported thereon; and the second catalyst washcoat zone comprises a second refractory metal oxide support material and one or more platinum group metal components supported thereon; and a washcoat overlayer (G) extending axially from the first substrate end for up to 200% of the axial length of the underlying first catalyst washcoat layer, which washcoat overlayer comprising a particulate metal oxide loading of >48.8 g/l (>0.8 g/in.sup.3), wherein the particulate metal oxide is an aluminosilicate zeolite including at least one of copper, iron and manganese, wherein a total platinum group metal loading in the first catalyst washcoat zone (1) defined in grams of platinum group metal per litre of substrate volume (g/l) is different from the total platinum group metal loading in the second catalyst washcoat zone (2).

Catalyst for exhaust gas oxidation, method for producing same, and exhaust gas oxidation method using same

Described are a catalyst capable of effectively oxidizing an exhaust gas, a method for preparing the catalyst, and a method for oxidizing an exhaust gas using the catalyst. The exhaust gas oxidation catalyst includes at least two layers, a lower catalyst layer and an upper catalyst layer, laminated on a three-dimensional structure, wherein the lower catalyst layer and the upper catalyst layer independently contain precious metal and alumina and/or zeolite, and at least a part of the upper catalyst layer contains pores derived from a pore connecting agent with a combustion decomposition temperature of 300° C. or more to less than 450° C.

LOW TEMPERATURE NOX ADSORBER WITH ENHANCED REGENERATION EFFICIENCY

The present disclosure provides Low Temperature NO.sub.x-Absorber (LT-NA) catalyst compositions, catalyst articles, and an emission treatment system for treating an exhaust gas, each including the LT-NA catalyst compositions. Further provided are methods for reducing a NO.sub.x level in an exhaust gas stream using the LT-NA catalyst articles. In particular, the LT-NA catalyst compositions include a first zeolite, a first palladium component, and a plurality of platinum nanoparticles. The LT-NA catalyst compositions exhibit enhanced regeneration efficiency with respect to NO.sub.x adsorption capacity, even after hydrothermal aging.

The present invention relates to a catalyst comprising a carrier substrate of length L and at least two washcoat layers A and B wherein washcoat layer A comprises alumina; ceria; an alkaline earth compound and/or an alkali compound; platinum, palladium or platinum and palladium; washcoat layer B comprises a zeolite and palladium, wherein the palladium is present as palladium cation in the zeolite structure or is wholly or partially present as palladium metal and/or as palladium oxide in the zeolite structure and/or on the surface of the zeolite structure; and
wherein washcoat layer A is arranged below washcoat layer B.

Copper CHA zeolite catalysts

Zeolite catalysts and systems and methods for preparing and using zeolite catalysts having the CHA crystal structure are disclosed. The catalysts can be used to remove nitrogen oxides from a gaseous medium across a broad temperature range and exhibit hydrothermal stable at high reaction temperatures. The zeolite catalysts include a zeolite carrier having a silica to alumina ratio from about 15:1 to about 256:1 and a copper to alumina ratio from about 0.25:1 to about 1:1.

An after treatment system (ATS) for a vehicle having an ATS module includes, fluidly connected in series, an inlet, a Diesel Oxidation Catalysts (DOC), a urea mixer and a Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR), and an outlet. The inlet is fluidly connected to an output of an engine of the vehicle and the outlet is fluidly connected to an outlet tube of the vehicle. The inlet, DOC, mixer, SCR and outlet are arranged to define a substantial rectangular path of a flow (F) of exhaust gases flowing in the ATS, with the inlet and the outlet being positioned at a same vertex of the substantial rectangular path of the flow (F).
