Catalyst article for use in an emission treatment system
A catalyst article for treating a flow of a combustion exhaust gas comprises: a catalytically active substrate comprising one or more channels extending along an axial length thereof through which, in use, a combustion exhaust gas flows, the one or more channels having a first surface for contacting a flow of combustion exhaust gas; wherein the substrate is formed of an extruded vanadium-containing SCR catalyst material, wherein a first layer is disposed on at least a portion of the first surface, wherein the first layer comprises a washcoat of an ammonia slip catalyst composition comprising one or more platinum group metals supported on a particulate metal oxide support material, and wherein a layer comprising a washcoat of SCR catalyst composition is disposed on a surface in the one or more channels, wherein at least the portion of the first surface on which the first layer is disposed comprises a compound of copper, iron, cerium or zirconium or a mixture of any two or more thereof.
NITROUS OXIDE REMOVAL CATALYSTS FOR EXHAUST SYSTEMS
A nitrous oxide (N.sub.2O) removal catalyst composite is provided, comprising a N.sub.2O removal catalytic material on a substrate, the catalytic material comprising a rhodium (Rh) component supported on a ceria-based support, wherein the catalyst composite has a H.sub.2-consumption peak of about 100° C. or less as measured by hydrogen temperature-programmed reduction (H.sub.2-TPR). Methods of making and using the same are also provided.

The present invention relates to a composite metal oxide which comprises 80 to 97 wt %, in relation to the weight of the composite metal oxide, of one or more oxides of cerium and 3 to 20 wt %, in relation to the composite metal oxide of a metal oxide comprising tin oxide (SnO.sub.2) and lanthanum oxide (La.sub.2O.sub.3) and/or aluminum oxide (AI.sub.2O.sub.3), a composite material for the storage of nitrogen oxides which comprises such composite metal oxide and palladium, as well as an exhaust gas system containing said composite material.
THREE-ZONE TWO-LAYER TWC CATALYST IN GASOLINE WASTE GAS APPLICATIONS
A three-way catalyst article, and its use in an exhaust system for internal combustion engines, is disclosed. The catalyst article for treating exhaust gas comprising: a substrate comprising an inlet end, an outlet end with an axial length L; an inlet catalyst layer beginning at the inlet end and extending for less than the axial length L, wherein the inlet catalyst layer comprises an inlet palladium component; an outlet catalyst layer beginning at the outlet end and extending for less than the axial length L, wherein the outlet catalyst layer comprises an outlet rhodium component; and wherein the outlet catalyst layer overlaps with the inlet catalyst layer.
Diesel oxidation catalyst and exhaust system
An oxidation catalyst for treating an exhaust gas from a diesel engine comprises: a first washcoat region for oxidising carbon monoxide (CO) and hydrocarbons (HCs), wherein the first washcoat region comprises a first platinum group metal (PGM) and a first support material, and wherein the first washcoat region does not comprise manganese or an oxide thereof; a second washcoat region for oxidising nitric oxide (NO), wherein the second washcoat region comprises platinum (Pt), manganese (Mn) and a second support material comprising a refractory metal oxide, which is silica-alumina or alumina doped with silica in a total amount of 0.5 to 45% by weight of the alumina, wherein the platinum (Pt) is disposed or supported on the second support material and the manganese (Mn) is disposed or supported on the second support material; and a substrate having an inlet end and an outlet end, and wherein the first washcoat region is a first washcoat layer and the second washcoat region is a second washcoat layer, and the second washcoat layer is disposed on the first washcoat layer; and wherein when the oxidation catalyst comprises a hydrocarbon adsorbent, which is a zeolite, then the first washcoat region further comprises the hydrocarbon adsorbent.
Ammonia slip catalyst with in-situ PT fixing
The invention relates to a catalytic article comprising a substrate having an inlet and an outlet; a first coating comprising a blend of: (1) platinum on a support, and (2) a first SCR catalyst; and a second coating comprising a second SCR catalyst; wherein the support comprises at least one of a zeolite or a SiO.sub.2—Al.sub.2O.sub.3 mixed oxide. The platinum may be fixed on the support in solution.
Use of a palladium/platinum/zeolite-based catalyst as passive nitrogen oxide adsorber for purifying exhaust gas
The invention relates to the use of a catalyst as a passive nitrogen oxide adsorber, which has a carrier substrate, a zeolite, palladium, and platinum, wherein the palladium is provided in a quantity of 0.01 to 10 wt. %, based on the sum of the weights of zeolite, platinum, and palladium and calculated as a palladium metal, and platinum in a quantity of 0.1 to 10 wt. %, based on the weight of the palladium and calculated as a platinum metal. The invention also relates to the use of said catalyst in connection with a SCR catalyst in an exhaust gas system.
Three-way catalyst
The present invention relates to a catalyst comprising a carrier substrate of the length L extending between substrate ends a and b and two washcoat zones A and B, wherein washcoat zone A comprises a first platinum group metal and extends starting from substrate end a over a part of the length L, and washcoat zone B comprises the same components as washcoat zone A and in addition a second platinum group metal and extends from substrate end b over a part of the length L, wherein L=L.sub.A+L.sub.B, wherein L.sub.A is the length of washcoat zone A and L.sub.B is the length of substrate length B.
LAYERED CATALYTIC ARTICLE AND PROCESS FOR PREPARING THE CATALYTIC ARTICLE
Described herein is a layered catalytic article which includes a) a top layer including a front zone and a rear zone, where the front zone includes a palladium component and a rhodium component, supported individually or together on a support, and the rear zone includes a platinum component, a rhodium component and optionally a palladium component, supported individually or together on a support; b) a bottom layer including a platinum component and a palladium component supported individually or together on a support; and c) a substrate. Also described herein are an exhaust treatment system including the layered catalytic article and a method of using the layered catalytic article for abatement of hydrocarbons, carbon monoxide and nitrogen oxides in an exhaust stream.
