COMPOSITIONS AND METHODS FOR PRODUCING TOBACCO PLANTS AND PRODUCTS HAVING ALTERED ALKALOID LEVELS
The present disclosure provides the identification of tobacco Nic1 locus. Also provided are tobacco plants with altered total alkaloid and nicotine levels and commercially acceptable leaf grade, their development via breeding or transgenic approaches, and production of tobacco products from these tobacco plants. Also provided are compositions and methods for producing tobacco plants having novel Nic1 mutations or alleles to reduce nicotine levels. Further provided are sequence polymorphisms and molecular markers for breeding tobacco with reduced nicotine or nicotine free while maintaining tobacco leaf grade and tobacco product quality.
DUAL-USE CIGARETTE AND TOBACCO FILLER THEREOF
The present invention discloses a dual-use cigarette and a tobacco filler thereof, the cigarette comprises a tobacco filling segment and a filter tip segment which are wrapped by roll paper, wherein the tobacco filler in the tobacco filling segment comprises tobacco raw materials added with PG and VG, the percentage by weight of the PG and VG in the tobacco raw materials is 5%-50%, and the percentage by weight of water content in the tobacco raw materials is 5%-10%. The present invention has the advantage that the smoke has no water bad odor and is close to common cigarettes.
DUAL-USE CIGARETTE
The present invention discloses a dual-use cigarette, comprising a suckable material segment and a filter tip segment which are wrapped by roll paper, wherein a hollowed segment surrounded by roll paper is disposed between the suckable material segment and the filter tip segment, and the roll paper of the hollowed segment is provided with a plurality of first capillary pores. The dual-use cigarette has the advantages that cold air cannot be sucked when smoking is started, and the burn of a respiratory mucosa caused by high temperature smoke can be avoided.
SMOKING ARTICLE WITH MOUTH END CAVITY
A smoking article (10) comprises a tobacco rod (12) and a filter (14) connected to the tobacco rod (12). The filter (14) comprises a first filter segment (18, 20) comprising one or more breakable capsules, wherein each breakable capsule comprises an outer shell and an inner core containing an additive. The filter (14) further comprises a hollow tube segment (22) downstream of the first filter segment (18, 20) and positioned between a downstream end of the first filter segment (18, 20) and the mouth end of the filter (14). The hollow tube segment (22) defines a cavity (24) at the mouth end of the filter (14). A plug wrap (23) circumscribes the first filter segment (18, 20) and the hollow tube segment (22), wherein the plug wrap (23) has a basis weight of less than 90 grams per square metre.
AEROSOL GENERATING ARTICLE AND AEROSOL GENERATING DEVICE
One or more embodiments relate to an aerosol generating article including: a first portion including an aerosol generating element; a second portion including a cooling element; a third portion including a tobacco element; and a fourth portion including a filter element, wherein the first through fourth portions are sequentially arranged in a longitudinal direction of the aerosol generating article.
Multi-segment filter element including smoke-altering flavorant
The invention provides an article, such as an aerosol-generating smoking article that does not combust tobacco, that includes a tobacco rod and a filter element connected to the tobacco rod, the filter element having an end proximal to the tobacco rod and an end distal from the tobacco rod, wherein the filter element includes a first section of filter material and a second section of filter material, and further includes a smoke-altering flavorant.
STRUCTURED FILTER MATERIAL FOR NICOTINE DELIVERY PRODUCTS
A filter material is described for manufacturing a nicotine delivery product, wherein the filter material is hydroentangled and contains at least 50% and at most 100% cellulose fibers, each with respect to the mass of the filter material, wherein the filter material has a basis weight of at least 25 g/m.sup.2 and at most 60 g/m.sup.2, and wherein the filter material has a structure that is characterized in that it provides the filter material with a transparency that, measured in accordance with DIN 53147:1993-01, is at least 45% and at most 70%. Furthermore, a segment comprising a filter material for a nicotine delivery product, a smoking article which comprises such a segment, an oral nicotine delivery product, and a process for the manufacture of the filter material are described.
Cigarette Tip
A backing with corrugations on a first surface. The corrugations are parallel and each has an airspace along an entire longitudinal length. A second surface of the backing includes perforations or scores oriented perpendicularly or parallel to the corrugations. The corrugations or scores are fold lines or frangible tear lines. The airspaces may also include a filter material. The second surface of the backing may be adhered to a corner of a rolling paper on the surface but opposite edge as a gum strip. The corrugations are parallel to the gum strip.
ORIENTAL TOBACCO PRODUCTION METHODS
A method of growing Oriental tobacco, is provided. The method can include receiving a plurality of Oriental tobacco seeds; planting the plurality of Oriental tobacco seeds in one or more containers, wherein the containers are located in a greenhouse structure configured to maintain a first temperature of approximately 50-100 F., and a humidity of approximately 50-60%; allowing the seeds to grow into seedlings at least about 4 inches in height; transplanting the seedlings into a coconut core medium, wherein the coconut core medium is located in a greenhouse structure configured to maintain a second temperature of approximately 50-100 F., and a humidity of approximately 50-60%; and allowing the seedlings to grow into Oriental tobacco plants.
