An agricultural baler includes a main bale chamber having an inlet for receiving crop material. A strawhook arrangement includes a plurality of strawhooks and an actuation mechanism for moving the strawhooks between an open position wherein the inlet to the main bale chamber is open, and a closed position wherein the inlet to the main bale chamber is closed. The actuation mechanism includes a two-bar linkage and an actuator. The two-bar linkage has a first bar with a first end and a second end, and a second bar with a first end and a second end. The first end of the first bar is pivotally coupled with the strawhooks, and the first end of the second bar is pivotally coupled with a fixed structure of the baler. The actuator is coupled with the second ends of the first bar and the second bar. The actuator is operable to apply pushing or pulling forces to each of the second ends and thereby selectively move the strawhooks between the open position and the closed position.

A baling press for baling cotton gin trash and other particulate biomass feedstock. The baling press includes an infeed chute assembly, a compression ram assembly, an extrusion chamber assembly, a strapping storage and dispensing assembly, and a strapping insertion assembly. Methods of producing a bale with the baling press and a bale generated by the baling press are also described.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR MORE ACCURATELY DETERMINING OVERALL QUALITY OF BALED PLANT MATERIAL
20230055283 · 2023-02-23 ·

A system and method for preparing a sample area of a bale in order to more accurately evaluate the plant material incorporated into the bale. A baler receives, compresses, shapes, and secures material into the bale. A cutter mechanism cuts a portion of the material in the bale into similarly-sized particles. A mixer mechanism mixes the particles into a homogenous aggregate. A compression mechanism compresses the homogenous aggregate into the bale. An NIR testing system receives and analyzes near-infrared radiation reflected by the homogenous aggregate, and generates evaluation data reflecting properties of the material. The cutter may include knives mounted in a compression chamber of the baler. The mixer may be a relief feature on a center rail, the compressor may be a projecting feature on the center rail, and an NIR sensor may be mounted to the center rail so as to press against the surface of the bale.

HEIGHT ADJUSTMENT ARRANGEMENT FOR AN AGRICULTURAL BALER

An agricultural baler includes a hydraulic circuit with a first hydraulic cylinder connected between the first end of the first axle and the chassis, and a second hydraulic cylinder connected between the second end of the first axle and the chassis. At least one sensor senses a position of the chassis relative to the first axle. An electrical processing circuit is coupled with the hydraulic circuit and the at least one sensor. The electrical processing circuit controls operation of the hydraulic circuit, and includes an operator input device for selectively: 1) raising the chassis of the baler relative to the first axle, 2) lowering the chassis of the baler relative to the first axle, or 3) automatically returning the chassis of the baler to a predetermined operating height relative to the first axle, dependent upon an output signal from the at least one sensor.

Agricultural baler

An agricultural baler includes a bale chamber for the compression of crop material into bales. The bale chamber has a floor that comprises an inlet opening. The baler also has a plunger for forcing the crop material from an inlet end of the bale chamber towards an outlet end, and a feeder duct communicating with the bale chamber through the inlet opening. The feeder duct has an upper end facing generally upwardly and communicating with the inlet opening in the bale chamber and a lower end facing generally in a forward direction. The feeder duct also has a top wall and a bottom wall extending between the lower end and the upper end of the feeder duct. The baler also has one or more actuators that are configured to move the top wall and/or the bottom wall; and a controller configured to activate the one or more actuators during a baling operation in order to adjust the volume of the feeder duct.

Pine straw processing and bagging system

A system and method for packaging pine straw and a packaged mass of pine straw made therefrom, the method including providing an electronically-controlled system configured for packaging pine straw, the system including system logic that controls conveying, fluffing, cleaning, compressing and packaging of the pine straw, and using the system to compress a mass of pine straw into a rectangular mass of pine straw and enclosing the rectangular mass of pine straw within a flexible plastic sheet thereby forming a substantially rectangular packaged mass of compressed pine straw.

CHUTE ASSEMBLY FOR AGRICULTURAL BALER
20230180668 · 2023-06-15 ·

A baler a chute assembly extending in a rearward direction from a baling chamber configured to simultaneously receive first and second bales as the bales are urged out of the baling chamber. The chute assembly includes a rail assembly and an opposing shelf assembly, the rail assembly and the shelf assembly cooperating to form a cavity therebetween. The rail assembly includes an upper rail and a lower rail with the lower rail offset from the upper rail in a horizontal direction toward the cavity, and the shelf assembly includes a horizontal first surface, an ejection plate, an angled second surface and a guide rail. As the first and second bales are urged from the bale chamber the first bale engages the rail assembly and the second bale engages the shelf assembly. The chute assembly rotates the first and second bales as the bales drop from the chute assembly in a single line of bales arranged in an end-to-end orientation.
