Round Baler
20220408654 · 2022-12-29 ·

A round baler has a rear door pivotable relative to the frame. A circulating press element defines a press chamber inside the frame for forming crop bales. A tension rocker is pivotable relative to the frame and has a rotatable rocker guide roller guiding the press element. A first pressure element is arranged at frame and rear door and acts between frame and rear door. A second pressure element is arranged at rear door and tension rocker and acts between rear door and tension rocker. At least one of the pressure elements is a linear actor. By length expansion of the first pressure element, rear door and tension rocker are pivotable, wherein the rear door is pivotable upwardly to enable ejection of crop bales. The rear door is pivotable downwardly by length expansion of the second pressure element. A method for operating the round baler is provided.

Agricultural baler with controlled tailgate lockout

A tailgate assembly for an agricultural baler includes: a tailgate that is movable between an open position and a closed position; a tailgate actuator coupled to the tailgate and configured to move the tailgate between the open position and the closed position; and a controller. The controller is configured to: determine that a bale formation cycle is beginning; enter a lockout mode responsively to determining the bale formation cycle has begun, the lockout mode preventing the tailgate actuator from moving the tailgate to the open position; determine that the bale formation cycle is complete; and enter an ejection mode from the lockout mode responsively to determining the bale formation cycle has completed, the ejection mode allowing the tailgate actuator to move the tailgate to the open position.

BELT TENSION LOCKOUT DEVICE FOR AN AGRICULTURAL BALER

A lockout device for a round baler. The lockout device has a body configured for being connected to a side of the tailgate of the round baler, a handle pivotally connected to the body at a pivot point, a wedge pivotally connected to the body at the same pivot point, and a biasing member connected in between the handle and the wedge. The handle is configured for pivoting in between a closed position and an open position for pivoting the wedge to be at least partially within the bale chamber to lock out the bale chamber.

IDENTIFICATION FILAMENT WITH BALER BINDING MATERIAL

A bale identification assembly for use with an agricultural baler having a first supply roll mounted on the baler providing a binding material used by the knotter system to bind the formed bale, wherein the binding material on the first supply roll is free of identification tags. The bale identification assembly includes a second supply roll mounted on the baler providing an identifying filament. The knotter system joins the identifying filament from the second supply roll with the binding material from the first supply roll while tying a knot to bind the formed bale.

A baler implement may include a main frame, a main housing, a gate, a latch housing, a latch, and a debris shield. The main housing is supported by the main frame. The gate is attached to and rotatably supported by the main housing. The latch housing is coupled to one of the main frame and the gate. The latch housing has a retainer and defines a pocket. The latch is coupled to an other of the main frame and the gate. The latch is controllable between a release position operable to disengage the retainer to allow the gate to move relative to the main housing and an engaged position operable to engage the retainer to hold the gate relative to the main housing. The debris shield is resiliently deformable to allow the latch to move through the opening of the pocket to limit debris entering the pocket.
