A shredding and baling apparatus provided includes a shredding assembly operatively connected to a baling assembly via a conveyor. A rotatable drum with cutting teeth spirally arranged along the drum is preferably centered within a lower portion of an intake hopper for cutting through material as it is fed into the hopper. Fixed cutting teeth are preferably arranged in a row or rows along each of the longitudinal sidewalls of the hopper, adjacent the cutting drum. A touch screen display and computer may be used in combination with sensors to monitor and control the shredding and baling operation, and a hydraulic system is used to drive the components. The shredding and baling assembly is preferably designed in an industrial size to handle high volumes of material and may be driven or transported from one location to another.

Rotor assembly for an agricultural baler

A rotor assembly for an agricultural baler. The rotor assembly has a rotor shaft having a central portion and first and second end portions either side of the central portion. The rotor assembly further has a number of tine plates to be arranged axially along the rotor shaft, each of the tine plates having one or more tines. The tine plates are arranged such that there is an angular spacing between the tines of adjacent ones of the tine plates. A magnitude of the angular spacing is greater or smaller at the central portion than at the first and second end portions of the rotor shaft.

Baler rotor feeding apparatus

A rotor assembly that has a support tube having a first diameter, at least one tooth coupled to the support tube, wherein the tooth rotates with the support tube to direct crop toward a chamber, and an undershot auger having an auger flight extending radially away from an auger core, the auger flight configured to cause the crop to flow towards a bale chamber region of the rotor assembly when rotation of the rotor assembly causes the crop to flow under the rotor assembly. Wherein, the auger core has a second diameter that is greater than the first diameter.

Predictive crop characteristic mapping for product application

A method of harvesting a crop material includes gathering the crop material with a harvesting implement as the harvesting implement moves along an initial path through a field. A location and a value of a characteristic of the gathered crop material is sensed at a plurality of intervals. A set of estimated values of the characteristic throughout the field is generated based on the sensed location and characteristic of the crop material at each of interval. A value of the characteristic of the crop material ahead of the harvesting implement is predicted as the harvesting implement moves along a harvest path, based on the set of estimated values of the characteristic of the crop material throughout the field. A function of the harvesting implement may be controlled based on the predicted value of the characteristic ahead of the pick-up.

BALING APPARATUS

A round baler having a baling chamber, a wrapping material reservoir, a feed apparatus having an actuator, the feed apparatus configured to convey a wrapping material from the wrapping material reservoir to the baling chamber, a cutting apparatus moveable between a retracted position allowing free movement of the wrapping material and an advanced position to cut the wrapping material, and a braking apparatus for applying a braking force on a roll of wrapping material installed in the wrapping material reservoir, and an actuator for controlling operation of the feed apparatus and the cutting apparatus. The round baler further comprises a tensioning element connecting the actuator to the braking apparatus to control a down force exerted on the roll of wrapping material and so control the tension in the wrapping material.

Tine plate for an agricultural baler

A planar tine plate having a number of tines. The tine plate is configured to be arranged on a rotor shaft of a rotor cutter apparatus of an agricultural baler. The tine plate is for moving or conveying crop material collected by the agricultural baler, for example by a pickup apparatus of the agricultural baler. The tine plate has at least one first tine and at least one second tine spaced angularly from the at least one first tine. The at least one first tine has a length greater than that of the at least one second tine. An increase in the cleaning efficiency and the crop conveying efficiency of an area to be swept by the tine plate as the rotor shaft rotates may be achieved.

An agricultural baler includes: a frame; a feeder system coupled with the frame and including: a cutting assembly coupled with the frame and including: at least one knife configured for cutting a crop material; an overload protection mechanism associated with a single one of the at least one knife and including a pivot device including an engagement device including an offset configuration; and a displacement apparatus configured for selectively forcing the at least one knife to occupy a first position and for selectively forcing the at least one knife to occupy a second position, each by way of the engagement device.

Agricultural vehicle with guided rotor knives

A cutting assembly includes: a rotor having extensions; a rotor floor disposed adjacent to the rotor and having knife slots formed therein, the rotor floor defining a cutting side and a shielded side on the opposite side of the rotor floor; movable knives that each extend through a respective knife slot into the cutting side to cooperate with the extensions in a cutting position and are disposed on the shielded side such that the knives do not cooperate with the extensions in a retracted position; and a knife guide including a pair of spaced apart guide surfaces coupled to the rotor floor on the shielded side and defining a gap therebetween. A respectively associated knife is at least partially disposed in the gap when in the retracted position. At least one of the guide surfaces defines a curved shape that corresponds to a cutting edge profile of the associated knife.

Cutting blade overlaod protection

A cutting blade overload protection device for a cutting mechanism of a harvester for leaf and stalk material, having a cutting blade pivotable about a cutting blade rotational axis and which is connected to a toggle lever mechanism. The toggle lever mechanism includes two coupled toggle levers pivotable about a toggle lever rotational axis and which move the cutting blade from an operating position to a resting position when a predefined force is exceeded. To protect the cutting blade better when contacting foreign objects, the device has a toggle lever mechanism which comprises a stop limit and a spring element, with the spring element and limit stop interacting such that when a predefined force is exceeded, the toggle lever rotational axis is moved past a dead center point, with the position of the toggle levers shifting from a first buckling position through a straight position into a second buckling position.
