Piezoelectric detection coupling of a bark collar

A method is described that comprises receiving a filtered signal corresponding to an acoustic event, applying one or more tests to the filtered signal in a sequence, wherein each test of the one or more tests assesses the filtered signal for the presence of one or more characteristics, the determining the presence of the one or more characteristics comprising a failure to identify the acoustic event as a first event, terminating the applying the one or more tests when a test determines the presence of the one or more characteristics, and identifying the acoustic event as the first event upon an occurrence of completing all tests of the one or more tests, the completing all tests including each test in the sequence determining the absence of the one or more characteristics.

Methods and systems for controlling the barking of an animal

The present disclosure relates to systems and methods for controlling the barking of an animal that wears a monitoring device. The systems may obtain status information of the animal from the monitoring device, and determine whether the animal is barking based on the status information. The systems may also obtain a first audio signal representing a first sound from the monitoring device in response to a determination that the animal is barking, and determine whether an anti-bark operation needs to be performed on the animal based on the first audio signal. The systems may further cause the monitoring device to perform the anti-bark operation on the animal in response to a determination that the anti-bark operation needs to be performed on the animal.

A restraint device having a tubular body with a handle at one end and a telescopic extension rod at the other end which allows the overall length of the body to be selectively adjusted. A cuff is attached to a tether at the end of the rod in a non-deployed position. The tether can be released so a law enforcement officer can loosely control a detainee. Electrical circuitry in the body is connected to electrodes on the lower end of the handle and on the cuff so a disabling charge can be delivered. The device is also useful to civilians as a protective device when jogging, walking, bicycling or the like.

A device for controlling an animal is provided, the device comprising a support to be worn by the animal; a first contact member mounted on the support and disposed in a position for contacting an electric fence when the device is being worn by the animal; a second contact member, mounted on the support and in electrical contact with the first contact member, the second contact member being disposed on the support to be in contact with the animal when the device is being worn by the animal; whereby, in use, an electrical current is conducted from the first contact member to the second contact member and an electric shock provided to the animal at the site of the second contact member when contact is made between the first contact member and an electric fence by the animal. The device is particularly suitable for controlling the movements of a horse or a pony. The device is preferably formed as a rug, blanket or a vest to be worn by the animal.

Animal Training System
20170290295 · 2017-10-12 ·

An animal training system includes a shock collar that may be worn around a neck of an animal. Thus, the shock collar is in electrical communication with the animal. The shock collar has a first transceiver. A control unit is provided and the control unit may be carried. The control unit is in communication with the shock collar. Thus, the control unit may determine a distance between the shock collar and the control unit. The control unit selectively actuates the shock collar when the shock collar moves beyond a pre-determined trigger distance from the control unit. Thus, the shock collar delivers an electric shock to the animal. The shock collar thusly informs the animal that the animal has moved beyond the pre-determined trigger distance from the control unit.

A vehicle for performing an animal-related operation, in particular for use with cows, is delimited by an outer side. The vehicle includes an electrical shock device for emitting an electrical shock to an animal. The shock device includes at least one pair of elongate, electrically conductive strips which run substantially parallel to each other so as to leave clear an electrically insulating intermediate space in between and which extend at least along a portion of the outer side of the vehicle. The strips of the or each pair of mutually parallel strips each have a shape including first parts which extend in a first direction which corresponds to the longitudinal direction of the elongate, mutually parallel strips, and including second parts which extend transversely, preferably substantially perpendicularly, with respect to the first direction. The shock device includes an electrical voltage source which is electrically connected to the strips in such a way that an electrically closed circuit is formed when the strips are electrically connected across the intermediate space, such as when both strips are touched by an animal.
