The disclosure provides various components for a fishing lure. These components include a Hard Bodied Ballast Oscillator (“HBBO”) which oscillates around various axes, an HBB with positive lift that rises during retrieval, and a hook for use in a rigid body which, while being fished, remains at least partially inside the body and reliably pointing upwards, and which, when the fish bites, is at least partially exposed. In some cases multiple components may be connected to each other via a stiff wire and designed to maintain, in the water, a particular orientation of the components relative to each other.

The mechanical fishing lure device may comprise a body, a hook, an axle, and a magnet. The mechanical fishing lure device may be a fishing lure adapted for attracting fish. The body may conceal the hook in a retracted position. An individual fish may strike at the fishing lure and may pull the body of the fishing lure while the fishing lure is in the mouth of the individual fish. A strike force exceeding a predetermined force threshold may pull the body against a fishing line causing the hook to pivot to an exposed position. The hook may be adapted to impale the individual fish when the hook is in the exposed position during a strike.

The present inventive concept relates to an artificial bait with movable hooks that is capable of easily catching cephalopods such as octopus ocellatus, cuttlefish, and the like underwater. According to the present inventive concept, in the process of performing hook setting, the movable hooks located at one end portion of the body move to the other end portion of the body, so that the cuttlefish around the body can be easily caught by the movable hooks suddenly protruding outward.
