For coloring foods, nutritional supplements, cosmetic or pharmaceutical products, the invention provides a dye, which contains at least one pigment in the form of a water-insoluble sulfate, carbonate, or phosphate of at least one alkaline earth metal, which is selected from the group consisting of calcium sulfate, magnesium phosphate, calcium phosphate, and magnesium carbonate.

Alcohol-based, edible ink formulations comprising scalenohedral calcium carbonate particles are provided. The calcium carbonate particles can act as a white pigment to impart white color properties to the edible ink formulations. The edible ink formulations can be printed onto a variety of surfaces, including the surfaces of food products such as confectionery products and snack food products.

Disclosed herein is a chewable article for oral mucosa delivery of a composition. The chewable system comprises a chewable base with the composition embedded, coated, integrated or dispersed therein. The composition may be pressurized, oxygenated, and/or atomized. The composition may be released as an aerosol. In one embodiment, the chewable system comprises a pressurized capsule that dissolves or ruptures in the mouth to release a burst of the composition. The chewable system may be configured to allow the composition facing to the buccal mucosa.

A gummy chew product comprising at least one branched chain amino acid (BCAA), theanine, alpha-glycerophosphocholine (alpha-GPC), and at least one mineral. The gummy chew product is suitable for use in improving muscle function and recovery, providing cognitive enhancement, and/or replenishing lost electrolytes in individuals when consumed before, during, and/or after physical and/or mental activity. The present application provides titanium dioxide free film coating compositions comprising a combination of a water soluble cellulose ether, a water soluble anionic cellulose ether, calcium carbonate and a plasticizer. The invention further provides a process for preparing the film coating compositions and a method of coating solid substrates with such coating compositions.

Disclosed is an edible, discontinuous gummy delivery system comprising collagen peptide particles with an average particle size from 5 to 500 μm and an average molecular weight from 1,000 to 10,000 Da dispersed in an elastic matrix, wherein the collagen peptide particles are undissolved or no more than partially dissolved in the elastic matrix, and wherein the collagen peptide particles are present in an amount from 8 to 45% of a total mass of the delivery system. Methods of preparing the gummy delivery systems are also disclosed.

Pectin-based melt-to-make bulk gummy mix is disclosed that is shelf stable and formulated, optionally with flavors and colors, in a bulk mix form that is convenient for the next step in manufacturing individual serving pectin gummies. The bulk pectin-based gummy mix can be formulated by companies making infused gummies in a convenient manner to consistently manufacture pectin-based gummies in any size and dose. Methods for making a storage stable bulk pectin-based gummy mix that is a precursor for making individual serving pectin gummies are disclosed, as well as methods for making individual serving pectin gummies from a storage stable bulk pectin-based gummy mix. Kits comprising a two-part pectin-based gummy mix and acidulent for initiating pectin gelling are also described for the convenient manufacture of individual serving pectin-based gummies.

The present invention relates to a glycerin- and protein-based candy product comprising probiotic bacteria, said product having a moisture content less than 9% and a water activity (aw) of less than 0.5 and comprising a) glycerin in an amount of at least 5% (w/w), b) at least one saccharide or at least one polyol which is not glycerin, or a mixture thereof, c) at least one protein which is not gelatin, and d) at least one species of a probiotic bacterium, and optionally e) at least one hydrocolloid. In a presently preferred embodiment the protein is a hydrolyzed protein. Further, the invention relates to processes for producing a glycerin- and protein-based candy product comprising probiotic bacteria.

The confectionary are further enhanced by fabrication which includes formulations effective in improving the user's breath and oral hygiene. Novel packaging for supporting and presenting the confectionary resembling jewels are also provided. A dispensing wand receives and supports a plurality of confectionary resembling jewels and is operable to sequentially dispense the confectionary resembling jewels.

The present application relates to environmentally friendly, biodegradable drinking straw manufactured from renewable resources and more specifically to drinking straws manufactured from soy protein isolate and the manufacturing process thereof.
