A helmet may include an upper-body comprising a first outer shell coupled to a first energy-absorbing shell formed of expanded polypropylene (EPP), expanded polystyrene (EPS), expanded polyurethane (EPU), or expanded polyolefin (EPO). A lower-body may include a second outer shell coupled to a second energy-absorbing shell formed of EPP, EPS, EPU, or EPO, wherein an upper portion of the lower-body is nested within the upper-body and a lower portion of the lower-body extends to an outer surface of a lower portion of the upper-body. A strap anchor may be disposed between the upper-body and the lower-body, and be sandwiched between the upper-body and the lower-body with the strap anchor being adjacent to, and oriented towards, the lower-body. A strap may be coupled to the fastening device and coupled to the strap anchor for coupling the helmet to a head of a user.

Safety helmet with telescopically adjustable head size

A safety helmet with a helmet shell, with a bearing ring, with a rotatable actuating element (14) and with a transmission unit (15.1, 15.2). The transmission unit (15.1, 15.2) transmits a rotation of the actuating element to the bearing ring, so that the head size provided is changed. A helmet shell-side transmission piece (15.1) is non-rotatably connected to the actuating element (14) such that they rotate in unison, and a bearing ring-side transmission piece (15.2) is connected mechanically to the bearing ring. The helmet shell-side transmission piece (15.1) can move both relative to the actuating element (14) and relative to the bearing ring-side transmission piece (15.2) linearly in two opposite directions. The distance between the actuating element (14) and the bearing ring can be changed thereby.

PROTECTIVE HELMET
20230018883 · 2023-01-19 ·

A protective helmet with an outer shell for distributing impact forces, with a head support ring for placing on a head of a wearer of the protective helmet, and with an adjustment device for adjusting a circumference of the head support ring in order to adapt the latter to the head of the wearer. The adjustment device is guided through an opening of the outer shell so as to be operated from outside the outer shell. The protective helmet is characterized in that the adjustment device is designed to tension a spring device, during the adjustment of the circumference, in such a way that the tension of the spring device acts to transfer the head support ring to a basic circumference.
