An elongated neck may be positioned between the catch and the stopper that is configured to hold a plurality of beverage cans. The catch, the stopper, and the elongated neck may all be manufactured from a unitary piece of material or may be a combination of different materials. This material may be aluminum to allow the stringer to remain attached to cans during the recycling process or a ferromagnetic metal so that the stringer may be extracted magnetically in the recycling process.

The carrier includes a handle; and at least one prong attached to the handle. The at least one prong is attached to the handle such that a first portion of the prong extends in a first direction from an attachment point to the handle and a second portion of the prong extends in a second direction from the attachment point. The second direction is opposite the first direction. When the carrier is not under tension, a gap between the handle and the first portion of the prong exists.
