Methods for packaging cushions with elastomeric cushioning elements

A method for packaging a cushion includes coating a cushioning element with a powder while the cushioning element is in an expanded state and then compressing the cushion to a compressed state. As the cushioning element is compressed, the powder prevents surfaces of the cushioning element (e.g., surfaces of intersecting walls that define hollow buckling columns of a cushioning element formed from an elastomeric polymer extended with a plasticizer, etc.) from adhering to each other. The powder may allow the cushioning element to substantially return to its expanded state substantially immediately following removal of a compressive force from the cushioning element.

Seating furniture

The invention relates to an item of seating furniture, which comprises at least one seat (1,21) in the manner of a seat pedestal (1) or in the manner of a stool and also at least one seat cushion (5). The seat has a hard core (22) and a soft outer layer (23-26), wherein the hard core is preferably composed of at least one hard foam plastic and the outer layer is preferably composed of at least one soft foam plastic. The seat cushion has a filling of microspheres composed of hard foam plastic and having a diameter of less than 2 mm.

Comfort Layer With Liquid Pods And Method Of Making Same
20230092044 · 2023-03-23 ·

A comfort layer for a bedding or seating product has liquid pods sandwiched between plies of fabric. The plies of fabric are joined with seams thereby creating pockets, at least one liquid pod being inside each pocket. Each seam joining opposed plies of fabric around each of the liquid pods of the comfort layer may be segmented or solid, depending upon the fabric and type of seam.

Pocketed Spring Assembly Including Liquid Pods
20230088072 · 2023-03-23 ·

A pocketed spring assembly comprises a plurality of parallel strings of springs, each string joined to at least one adjacent string, each string comprising one piece of fabric folded into first and second opposed plies. Outer pockets are formed along each string by transverse seams joining the first and second plies. One pocketed spring and at least one liquid pod are positioned in each outer pocket. At least one cushion pad, at least one liquid pod or any combination thereof may be individually pocketed inside an outer pocket.

CUSHION

The present invention aims at solving a problem of providing a cushion body that, when mounted by a person, is capable of changing into various shapes along an outer contour of the person or in accordance with the person's wishes. The problem is solved by a pillow including at least a bag body, at least a part of which is stretchable; and a filler material in the bag body, wherein the pillow is used by a person, the filler material includes foam beads; a space, in which the filler material is absent, is formed in a top section of the pillow at a length of 1/10 to ⅔ of a maximum length of the pillow, when the pillow is placed upright on a floor such that a maximum length direction of the pillow becomes parallel to a direction of gravity and a peak section of the pillow is extended upward such that an area of contact between the floor and the pillow is invariable; and buttocks reach to a bottom of the pillow when the person lies down such that at least the buttocks reach to the pillow that is placed on the floor such that the maximum length direction becomes parallel.

CONSUMER GOODS MADE WITH PIECES OF VERTICALY LAPPED NONWOVEN

Consumer products such as pillows for bedding or furniture, sack-like furniture, toppers for car seats, office seats, or household seats, and pet mattresses, are constructed from an outer casing, such as a woven or knitted fabric or a quilted fabric which may include a cushioning layer and a plurality of cut pieces of vertically lapped nonwoven material. The outer casing may be sewn closed but preferably includes a zippered opening or other opening which can be selectively opened and closed to allow the consumer to add or subtract cut pieces of vertically lapped nonwoven material from the interior volume of the outer casing. A zippered inner layer may neatly hold all of the cut pieces of vertically lapped nonwoven material together while the outer casing is changed or cleaned.

BALANCING PRESSURE BEARING APPARATUS
20220312975 · 2022-10-06 · ·

A balancing pressure bearing apparatus including a connecting base and bearing components is provided. Inside the connecting base is any material selected from a volume-incompressibe fluid, semifluid and elastic element, and arranged thereabove is each bearing component. The bearing components have bearing surfaces for supporting any pressing-down human body part and pressure reduction. When the connecting base is pressed down, a Pascal phenomenon is generated for a pressure applied to the fluid, semifluid or elastic element inside the connecting base to be transmitted equally in all directions. Each portion thereof has the same pressure for balancing pressure of the supportive bearing surfaces pressed by any two human body parts, thereby reducing and balancing pressures thereon to achieve a more comfortable contact sensation of pressure release and a correct posture effect. Hence, the invention can serve as a cushion, seat, backrest, mattress or pillow product.
