Medical valve

A valve for use in an endoscope may comprise a proximal valve stem member having a first lumen extending from a proximal opening at a proximalmost end of the proximal valve stem member to a distal opening at a distalmost end of the proximal valve stem member. A distal valve stem member may have a second lumen with a proximal opening at a proximalmost end of the distal valve stem member. The proximalmost end of distal valve stem member may be received within the distal opening of the first lumen. The distal valve stem may be movable relative to the proximal valve stem.

The disclosure relates to a medical endoscope including: a piston body in which a piston is movably mounted in displacement; the piston delimiting with the piston body a sealed obturation section and a sealed interconnection chamber adapted so that, in the open position of the obturation device, the sealed interconnection chamber ensures communication between a first portion and a second portion of the circulation circuit. According to the disclosure, the sealed interconnection chamber including a hole passing right through the piston to open out into a cylindrical chamber delimited between the piston and the piston body, by an oblong section located in the open position of the circulation circuit, facing the inlet sections of the tubing for connection to the first portion and to the second portion of the circulation circuit to limit the pressure drop.

Compact multi-viewing element endoscope system

Endoscopes of this disclosure, such as colonoscopes, provide a broader field of view and allow extended access of surgical tools, and also enable efficient packing of all necessary elements in the tip section, while maintaining their functionality. Methods and systems of this disclosure include for capturing and displaying still and video images using an endoscope corresponding to a left-side looking viewing element, a front-looking viewing element, and a right-side looking viewing element of an endoscopic tip generated in a native aspect ratio.

TREATMENT DEVICE AND TREATMENT SYSTEM

A treatment device used together with an endoscope, has a guide pipe and a movement mechanism. The guide pipe has a first pipe having a curving portion and a second pipe continuous with a proximal side of the curving portion. The curving portion has, in its inner circumferential surface, a bent surface bent to the second pipe, and bending the flow direction of the fluid discharged from the distal end of the sheath in a state where the distal end of the sheath is located near the distal end of the second pipe. The movement mechanism protrudes a distal surface of the insertion portion from the distal end of the sheath and brings the distal surface closer to or into abutment with the bent surface in a state where the distal end of the sheath is disposed near the distal end of the second pipe.

Medical devices for fluid delivery and related methods of use

A medical device may include an insertion portion longitudinally extending between a proximal end and a distal end. The insertion portion may define a channel extending therethrough. The medical device may further include a handle coupled to the proximal end of the insertion portion. The handle may further include an irrigation port in fluid communication with the channel and coupled to a source of irrigation fluid. Additionally, the handle may include an actuator and a pressurizer. Manipulation of the actuator may be configured to actuate the pressurizer to urge irrigation fluid distally through the channel.

MODULAR MEDICAL DEVICES AND METHODS OF USING THE SAME

A medical device that includes a first body including a first actuation member including a first connector and a second actuation member. The medical device includes a second body for attachment to, and detachment from, the first body. The second body including an actuation wire, a second connector at a proximal end of the actuation wire, and a valve having one or more channels for receiving a material. Attachment of the first body with the second body results in the first connector engaging the second connector, such that movement of the first actuation member causes a corresponding movement of the actuation wire. Moving the second actuation member into the second body to interact with the valve is configured to selectively direct the material through the one or more channels.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR PREVENTING CLOGGING OF A DELIVERY SYSTEM

A system suitable for delivering a therapeutic agent to a target site may include a container for holding a therapeutic agent, a pressure source having pressurized fluid, where the pressure source is in selective fluid communication with at least a portion of the container, a catheter in selective fluid communication with the container and configured for delivery of the therapeutic agent to a target site, a first valve connected between the container and the catheter, a second valve connected between the pressure source and the container, a button configured to selectively actuate the second valve, and a brake assembly coupled to the first valve and configured to selectively permit actuation of the second valve, such that when the first valve is in a first state, the brake assembly blocks the button such that the button does not actuate the second valve.
