OCCLUDER AND SYSTEM

An occluder (100) and system. The occluder (100) includes a body (110) including a shaping wire (111) and a spring coil (112), the shaping wire (111) formed by a resilient metal wire and configured to have a predetermined shape, the spring coil (112) sleeved on the shaping wire (111) in order to shape the body (110) with the predetermined shape. Through maintaining the shape of the body (110) by means of the shaping wire (111), the body (110) is able to effectively block the breach (30) in aortic dissection treatments.

Spring barb for medical device

Disclosed herein is an anchor for use with a medical device. The anchor includes a coil, a barb, and a turn connecting the coil to the barb. The anchor may be made of a shape memory material. The coil may have a first handedness, and the turn may have a second handedness opposite the first handedness. The anchor may be attached to the medical device by a friction fit, in some cases without being attached by welding, soldering, adhesive, or crimping.

Methods of using tissue anchors having bi-directional arrays of barbed pins for joining together parallel tissue layers
11490885 · 2022-11-08 · ·

A method of joining together two tissue layers includes positioning a tissue anchor over a first tissue layer. The tissue anchor includes a plate having top and bottom surfaces, an array of first pins projecting from the bottom surface of the plate that oppose the first tissue layer, and an array of second pins projecting from the top surface of the plate that face away from the first tissue layer. A second tissue layer is placed over the first tissue layer and the tissue anchor so that the second pins oppose the second tissue layer. The second tissue layer is pressed onto the tissue anchor and toward the first tissue layer so that the first pins advance into the first tissue layer and the second pins advance into the second tissue layer for joining together the first and second tissue layers. The plate has second pin apertures and the second pins are free to slide and move independently of one another within the second pin apertures.

CLOSURE SYSTEM, AND MANUFACTURING METHOD OF CLOSURE DEVICE

A closure system includes a catheter having an internal diameter D1 [mm]; and a closure device to be delivered to the hole or duct in the tissue through the catheter. The closure device includes: a first plate including a first center part, and a first extension part extending around the first center part and containing a resin having elastic restorability; and a waist part connected to the first center part. The first extension part has a thickness A1 [mm]. The waist part has a maximum dimension T1 [mm] in a plan view. The internal diameter D1 of the catheter is larger than 2×A1+T1.

Cardiac and Vascular Access and Closure System and Method

Devices, systems and methods for cardiac and vascular access configured to allow for intracardiac access to conduct medical procedures. The devices, systems and methods are particularly useful in trans-cardiac extra-corporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) procedures, ventricular assist procedures, cardiopulmonary bypass, or other medical procedures where intracardiac access may be required.

An occlusive implant may include an expandable framework configured to shift between a collapsed configuration and an expanded configuration. The expandable framework includes a plurality of anchor members extending radially outward from the expandable framework in the expanded configuration, each anchor member including at least one base portion fixedly secured to the expandable framework and a plurality of anchor tips extending from each base portion. Each base portion extends longitudinally along the expandable framework. A method of making the occlusive implant may include forming the expandable framework, forming the plurality of anchor members, and fixedly attaching each base portion to the expandable framework such that each anchor member extends radially outward from the expandable framework in the expanded configuration and each base portion extends longitudinally along the expandable framework.

TRANSCATHETER VALVE DELIVERY SYSTEM WITH SEPTUM HOLE CLOSURE TIP ASSEMBLY
20170348096 · 2017-12-07 ·

Transcatheter heart valve delivery systems having a tip assembly configured to close the hole or perforation made in a patient's septal wall after transseptal delivery of a stented prosthetic heart valve to a defective heart valve (e.g., a mitral valve). The delivery device is configured to permit in vivo release of the tip assembly immediately after deployment of the stented prosthetic heart valve to implant the tip assembly into the septal wall proximate the hole through which the stented prosthetic heart valve is delivered. Methods of treating the defective heart valve, including closing the hole made during transseptal delivery of the stented prosthetic heart valve with the tip assembly of the delivery device are also disclosed.

OCCLUSIVE MEDICAL DEVICE WITH FABRIC RETENTION BARB

An occlusive implant system may include a catheter having a lumen extending from a proximal opening to a distal opening, a core wire slidably disposed within the lumen, and an occlusive implant having an expandable framework configured to shift between a collapsed configuration and an expanded configuration, and an occlusive element disposed on the expandable framework. The expandable framework may include a plurality of anchor members extending radially outward from the expandable framework, at least some of the plurality of anchor members each have a barb projecting circumferentially therefrom. The occlusive implant may be releasably connected to a distal portion of the core wire.

Device, kit and method for closure of a body lumen puncture
09826964 · 2017-11-28 · ·

A medical device and method for closure of a puncture in a body lumen are disclosed. The device has an aggregate (10) of a support structure (20) and a substantially fluid tight patch member (30) attached thereto at an attachment unit (40). The aggregate has a first, temporary delivery shape, for delivery to an interior of said body lumen and to be subsequently subjected to a change of shape to a second shape, which is a tubular shape. When delivered in said body lumen, the patch member is arranged radially outside of said tubular support structure and arranged towards an inner tissue wall of the body lumen. The aggregate is the detached from a delivery device and said puncture is intraluminally closed in a leakage tight manner, advantageously supported by a physiological pressure of a body fluid in said body lumen. The device may biodegrade over time.
