REDUCED-PRESSURE DRESSING ASSEMBLIES FOR USE IN APPLYING A CLOSING FORCE

A closing dressing bolster and assembly for use with a system for treating a linear wound on a patient includes a bolster body formed from a flexible closing bolster material having closing members that are operable to develop an inward closing force when the closing dressing bolster is placed under reduced pressure. In one aspect, when the closing dressing bolster is under reduced pressure, the system, dressing, or assembly develops an inward force realized at the linear wound and a compression force. A wicking-material holder and wicking material may be used as well. The member components may all be see-through to allow visual inspection of the wound without requiring removal of the dressing.

Negative pressure wound closure device

The present invention relates to a negative pressure wound closure system and methods for using such a system. Preferred embodiments of the invention facilitate closure of the wound by preferentially contracting to provide for movement of the tissue. Preferred embodiments can utilize tissue grasping elements to apply a wound closing force to the tissue.

PORT WITH PIERCING MEANS

A port is provided for use with a wound dressing. The port has piercing means to change the configuration of wound dressing for use in a pressure gradient wound therapy apparatus or for use without a pressure gradient wound therapy apparatus. The port is for connecting a non-atmospheric pressure source to a wound dressing. It comprises a first aperture configured to connect to the non-atmospheric pressure source; and a wound dressing contact surface. The wound dressing contact surface includes a second aperture in fluid communication with the first aperture and configured to allow fluid communication with the wound dressing. The piercing means is configured to pierce the wound dressing as the wound dressing contact surface of the port is applied to the wound dressing.

Shear resistant wound dressing for use in vacuum wound therapy

A cover layer for a vacuum wound therapy dressing includes a backing layer formed from a flexible polymeric membrane and an adhesive layer for affixing the backing layer over a wound bed to provide a substantially fluid-tight seal around a perimeter of the wound bed. The cover layer is reinforced with a reinforcement layer extending to a peripheral region of the backing layer to distribute forces associated with evacuating a reservoir, as defined by or within the cover, to stimulate healing of the wound bed.

OXYGENATED HEMOGLOBIN AND APPARATUSES, SYSTEMS, AND METHODS THEREFORE

This disclosure describes devices, systems, and methods related to oxygenated hemoglobin, the generation thereof, and the use thereof. An exemplary oxygenated hemoglobin therapy system includes an oxygen source configured to provide oxygen and a hemoglobin source configured to provide topical hemoglobin. The therapy system may also include a mixer which has a first inlet, a second inlet, and an outlet. The mixer is configured to mix the oxygen and the topical hemoglobin to form a mixture and to provide the mixture to a dressing via the outlet. The therapy system may further include the dressing. The oxygenated hemoglobin therapy systems described herein are suitable for use in medical devices, such as bandages, drapes, dressings, and wound closures.

Collapsible structure for wound closure and method of use

In some embodiments, a negative pressure wound closure system and methods for using such a system are described. Certain disclosed embodiments facilitate closure of the wound by preferentially contracting to exert force on the tissue. Some embodiments may utilize a collapsible structure with a plurality of cells.

APPARATUSES AND METHODS FOR NEGATIVE PRESSURE WOUND THERAPY

Disclosed herein are several embodiments of a negative pressure appliance and methods of using the same in the treatment of wounds. Some embodiments are directed to improved fluidic connectors or suction adapters for connecting to a wound site, for example using softer, kink-free conformable suction adapters.
