An adjustable back brace configured to aid in the correction of spinal curvature during a treatment period of a patient is provided. In some aspects, the adjustable back brace comprises a rod, an inferior segment, and a superior segment. The inferior segment is configured to stabilize a pelvic region of the patient. The superior segment is configured to apply pressure to one of a first lateral side and a second lateral side of the patient, proximate a thoracic region of the patient to provide a corrective force on the spinal curvature of the patient. The superior segment is also selectively adjustable to be selectively moved and fixedly positioned in a plurality of positions along at least one of the lateral direction or the vertical direction, wherein the plurality of positions are designed for periodic adjustment of the corrective force on the spinal curvature during the treatment period.

Scoliosis brace

This invention relates to a three-dimensional scoliosis support system capable of providing pain relief and improvement of the spinal balance in scoliosis patients with different curve types. The disclosed bracing system is a tension-based scoliosis orthosis that comprises an rigid back panel. The three de-rotational supports pads of the back panel are connected to each other, providing facilitation or restriction of certain movements of human spine in the three different anatomical planes, i.e., coronal, sagittal and transverse planes. This scoliosis brace includes inelastic straps connected to the de-rotational supports/pads of the back panel, and the bracing system has different sizes and it can be fitted and adjusted accordingly with scoliosis curve type and patient characteristics.

Controlled tension device fastening devices, systems, and methods

Devices, systems, and methods for maintain a preselected tension between a first portion and a second portion of an orthotic brace include a controlled tension unit that includes a housing coupled to a first portion of the orthotic brace, the housing having a cavity formed therein, one or more constant-force spring mounted at or near a first end of the cavity, and a connector cable having a first end connected to an end of the one or more constant-force spring and a second end extending out of the housing through a second end of the cavity. The second end of the connector cable is configured to connect with a coupling element coupled to a second portion of the orthotic brace. In this arrangement, the controlled tension unit is configured to maintain a preselected tension between the first portion and the second portion of the orthotic brace.

Spinal orthosis, kit and method for using the same

A spinal orthosis includes a rear panel, and first and second belt members securing to the rear panel. The first and second belt members each define a first end secured to a first side of the rear panel and a second end having a foldable portion adapted to fold over a first surface of the first and second belt members and secure to the first surface to reduce a length of the first and second belt members. First and second front closures are secured to the second ends of the first and second belt members, respectively, and arranged for removably securing to one another to form a continuously circumferential loop with the rear panel and the first and second belt members. A kit or method may be provided for sizing the belt members with a sizing device for forming a predetermined distance between the first and second belt members.

EXOSUIT HAVING ADJUSTABLE MODULAR STRAPS AND BANDS

A wearable assistance device, such as an exosuit/exoskeleton, for providing assistance (e.g., assistive force or assistive torque) while reducing lower back muscle stress, fatigue, injury risk and/or pain is disclosed. The wearable assistance device includes adjustable modular straps and/or elastic bands. The modular straps allow swapping of different straps to achieve a custom fit of the wearable assistance device. The modular elastic bands allow swapping of different elastic bands to achieve a preferred level of assistance by the wearable assistance device.

A formable cast (100) or brace is provided herein which comprises a padding (101), an outer shell (103) spaced apart from the padding, and a ridge (109) disposed along the perimeter of the shell. The ridge, shell and padding define an interior space (115), with a curable polymeric material disposed in the interior space. The curable polymeric material undergoes a phase transition, upon curing, from a liquid or gel phase to a substantially rigid solid phase. The cast or brace (100) may be readily customized to the patient by fitting the cast to the patient's body, positioning the cast in the desired orientation, and curing the curable polymeric material through exposure to actinic radiation or by other suitable means.

Thoracic lumbar sacral orthosis attachment

A thoracic lumbar sacral orthosis attachment for configuring an orthopedic device as a thoracic lumbar sacral orthosis by connecting the attachment to the orthopedic device. The attachment has an anterior aspect including an anterior panel arranged to connect to an orthopedic device. An anterior thoracic extension (ATE) is securable to the anterior panel, and a support bar extends from the ATE. A strap system includes an axillary strap system and/or a shoulder strap system removably securing onto a surface of the orthopedic device, and/or the ATE.
