Aspects relate to systems and methods for synergistic laser cleaning and whitening of teeth. In one aspect a system includes a laser system configured to perform a laser treatment on exposed tooth surfaces on a plurality of a patient's teeth, where the laser system includes a laser arrangement configured to generate a laser beam, an optical arrangement configured to direct the laser beam toward the exposed tooth surfaces, and a laser controller configured to control the laser beam to remove a pellicle from the exposed tooth surfaces, and a tray configured to apply a whitening agent to the exposed tooth surfaces after the laser treatment.
REVERSIBLE THERMOCHROMIC/PHOTOCHROMIC COSMETIC ACTIVATOR
A cosmetic activator system for activating a cosmetic is provided including: an activator having an energy source configured to emit an energy pulse and a controller; and an imprinter having an imprint pattern and at least one activation element configured to be in communication with the energy source, wherein the imprinter is configured to create an imprint on the cosmetic.
Crosslinked polysaccharides and related methods
Methods of forming cross-linked polysaccharides are disclosed in which one or more polysaccharides are dissolved in solution, gelled, modified to have a desired concentration, and subsequently irradiated. The irradiation of the gel crosslinks the polysaccharide(s) present. The disclosed techniques may be applied to various polysaccharides, including but not limited to agarose and/or hyaluronic acid.
ONYCHOMYCOSIS TREATMENT SYSTEM AND METHOD
A system and method includes a nonthermal plasma sub-system with a permeable UV filter for production and delivery of a redox gas solution to treat onychomycosis, wherein the redox gas solution comprises a reactive species dissolved in a perfluorocarbon liquid, and wherein the perfluorocarbon liquid is dispensed onto a gas-permeable membrane and wherein the reactive species may include, alone, or in combination, one or more of reactive oxygen, reactive nitrogen, reactive chlorine, or reactive bromine species, and the perfluorocarbon liquid may include perfluorodecalin.
METHOD FOR COSMETIC TREATMENT BY COMBINED ILLUMINATION AND APPLICATION OF A COMPOSITION COMPRISING NIACINAMIDE, AND ASSOCIATED DEVICE
The non-therapeutic cosmetic treatment method includes at least: —applying an active composition including at least niacinamide onto the skin of a subject, and—illuminating the skin using at least one light source emitting at a wavelength of between 620 and 690 nanometres, preferably 660 nanometres, the illumination being carried out before, at the same time as or after the application of the composition. A device is configured for implementing such a method.
PHOTOISOMERIZED COMPOSITIONS OF ANTHOCYANINS AND METHODS OF MAKING AND USE THEREOF
Disclosed herein are photoisomerized compositions comprising anthocyanins and methods of making an use thereof. For example, disclosed herein are methods of photoisomerizing a composition, the methods comprising: irradiating a composition comprising an anthocyanin dissolved in a solvent solution with UV light; wherein at least a portion of the anthocyanin is present as a trans isomer before the irradiation; wherein the solvent solution comprises ethanol and water in a ratio of ethanol to water (volume/volume) of 99:1 to 70:30; thereby converting at least a portion of trans isomer to a cis isomer via photoisomerization to produce a photoisomerized composition. In some examples, the photoisomerized composition has a more intense and stable blue color at pH 8 relative to the composition before irradiation.
METHOD FOR IMPROVING BODY SHAPE AND IMPROVING SKIN CONDITION USING NONI FRUIT FERMENT
A method for improving body shape and improving skin condition using a noni fruit ferment is provided, and the method includes: administrating a composition to a subject in need thereof. The composition includes an effective amount of noni fruit ferment. The noni fruit ferment is prepared by (a) mixing glucose and noni fruit with water for extraction, to obtain a noni fruit broth, and (b) fermenting the noni fruit broth with a plurality of bacteria strains. The bacteria strains include yeast, lactic acid bacteria, and acetic acid bacteria. In step (b), the noni fruit broth and the bacteria strains are irradiated with a red light source with a wavelength of 620 nm to 750 nm. In addition, the noni fruit ferment also has at least one of the following functions: removing free radicals, improving defecation status, and improving gastrointestinal motility.
