Ultra-low waste disposable safety syringe for low dose injections
A needle and syringe system, wherein a needle head is attached to a syringe assembly. The syringe assembly includes a syringe barrel and a plunger rod with a plunger head. A needle base is affixed to the syringe barrel. A tubular cavity is formed in the needle base and a post extends through the tubular cavity. A needle extends through the post. A spacer is provided. The spacer is displaced into the tubular cavity within the needle base as the plunger head is advanced within the syringe barrel. A protective cover is disposed about the needle base. The spacer moves the protective cover between a first position and a second position as the spacer is displaced into the tubular cavity. As the protective cover moves between positions, the protective cover surrounds the needle and prevents the needle from causing any inadvertent needle stick injuries.
Safety syringe

The present disclosure relates to a medicament injection device (1) comprising a housing (3) arranged to receive a medicament container (11a), a needle cover (9) movable relative to the housing (3), from a retracted position, in which it engages the housing (3) and enables medicament delivery, to an extended position, a plunger rod (7), and a plunger driver (5) movable relative to the housing (3) from an initial position to a final position, and arranged to actuate the plunger rod (7), wherein the plunger rod (7) has a first guide arrangement and the housing (3) has a second guide arrangement, the first guide arrangement (7d) and the second guide arrangement being arranged to cooperate to guide movement of the plunger rod (7) relative to the housing (3), wherein the first guide arrangement and the second guide arrangement in a first stage provide a linear motion path for the plunger rod (7), enabling the plunger rod (7) to initially move in the axial direction and in a second stage provide a rotation motion path for the plunger rod (7), enabling the plunger rod (7) to rotate relative to the housing (3) to release the plunger rod (7) from the plunger driver (5), whereby the plunger driver (5) attains a released state enabling movement of the plunger driver (5) to its final position, wherein in the released state the plunger driver (5) is arranged to release the needle cover (9) from the housing (3) and to actuate the needle cover (9) to its extended position.
Auto-injector apparatus
Disclosed is an auto-injector apparatus for receiving a safety syringe, the safety syringe including a sheath deployable on actuation of a plunger to a position at least partially covering a needle of the syringe, wherein the apparatus is configured to allow movement of the sheath to a closed position that substantially covers the needle.
SAFETY SYRINGE
A safety syringe comprising a barrel having an opening at an end thereof and a bung positioned in the barrel and creating a volume between the opening and the bung. The safety syringe also comprises a handle portion secured to the barrel and a syringe plunger slidably engaged with the handle portion and moveable within the barrel on an inward stroke to drive the bung forwards within the barrel to cause a substance within the volume to be expelled from the opening. The safety syringe further comprises a rotation mechanism configured to rotate the syringe plunger within the barrel at a point during the inward stroke when the syringe plunger is in contact with the bung, such that a rotational force is applied to the barrel and a brake connected to the handle portion and configured to provide a frictional force to resist the rotational force applied to the barrel.
A FLUID PRODUCT INJECTION DEVICEz
Disclosed is a fluid product injection device comprising: —a syringe comprising a vessel (1) containing fluid product to be injected, a piston (3) being arranged so as to be axially movable in the vessel (1) and a needle (2) provided with an injection tip (20) being attached to the vessel (1), —a piston rod (5) axially movable relative to the vessel (1) and cooperating with the piston (3) during injection in order to move it axially in the vessel (1), —a sleeve (10) arranged around the syringe, being axially movable relative to the vessel (1) between an idle position, in which the sleeve (10) does not cover the injection tip (20) of the needle (2), and a projecting position, in which the sleeve (10) covers the injection tip (20) of the needle (2), the sleeve (10) being in its idle position before actuation of the injection device, the sleeve (10) being moved towards its projecting position after the injection of the fluid product, the sleeve (10) being moved by the piston rod (5).
