An assembly for a medication delivery device having a body, a piston rod and a setting nut. The piston rod is rotatable relative to the body in a dose setting state and is axially movable in a distal direction with respect to the body in a dose delivering state. The setting nut is secured against rotational movement with respect to the body, but is axially movable relative to the body, being helically coupled with the piston rod to axially travel in the proximal direction for setting a dose of a medication due to a helical movement of the setting nut with respect to the piston rod when the piston rod is rotated in the dose setting state, and is able to axially travel in the distal direction for delivering the set dose of the medication when the piston rod is axially moved in the dose delivering state of the assembly.

Systems and methods for delayed delivery of a drug are disclosed. A drug delivery system may include a delivery member for insertion into a patient and a reservoir configured to receive a volume of a drug. An energy source may be activatable by the patient to actuate the reservoir to deliver the drug to the patient as a single bolus. A lockout system may be configured to have a locked state, wherein the lockout system prevents movement of the delivery member and/or activation of the energy source, and an unlocked state, wherein the lockout system permits movement of the delivery member and/or activation of the energy source. The lockout system may be configured to automatically change from the locked state to the unlocked state after a preselected time period has elapsed. An output element may generate a detectable output after the preselected time period has elapsed for notifying the patient.

A syringe includes a barrel extending along a longitudinal axis between opposite proximal and distal ends. The barrel includes a proximal inner surface and a distal inner surface. The proximal inner surface defines a proximal chamber and the distal inner surface defines a distal chamber. The barrel includes first teeth extending from the proximal inner surface. A piston includes a body having opposite proximal and distal sections. The piston includes second teeth extending from an outer surface of the proximal section. The second teeth directly engage the first teeth to allow the piston to translate distally relative to the barrel along the longitudinal axis and prevent the piston from translating proximally relative to the barrel along the longitudinal axis. The present invention relates to a medicament delivery device comprising a housing, a biased medicament delivery member guard arranged movable in relation to the housing from a proximally extended position to a retracted position, a power pack comprising a plunger rod and a force element arranged to act on said plunger rod, which power pack is actuated by a release clip movable in relation to the housing and arranged to said plunger rod for releasably holding said plunger rod with the force element in a tensioned state; a rotator rotatably arranged inside said housing, which rotator is arranged with a guide element and a medicament delivery member guard lock element on its outer surface, wherein said medicament delivery member guard is arranged with release clip activation elements operably arranged to act on said release clip for releasing said plunger rod, and wherein said medicament delivery member guard is further arranged with a rotator activator element arranged to cooperate with said guide element for turning said rotator, upon movement of said medicament delivery member guard to the retracted position, and wherein, upon movement of said medicament delivery member guard back to the extended position, said rotator activator element will engage said medicament delivery member guard lock element and lock said medicament delivery member guard in a shielding position after removal of said medicament delivery device from a medicament delivery site.
Device for locking a plunger rod of a syringe after use and preventing re-use of the syringe, and syringe assembly
In a locking device for locking a plunger rod a plunger rod locking portion is provided for locking a plunger rod of a syringe after use and preventing re-use of the syringe. A chamber is formed inside the plunger rod locking portion for receiving the disc-shaped proximal end of the plunger rod after use of the syringe. The plunger rod locking portion comprises at least one positive locking device configured to positively lock the axial position of the plunger rod by positive-fit engagement with the disc-shaped proximal end of the plunger rod and retain the disc-shaped proximal end of the plunger rod inside the chamber. The locking device provides the functionality of a tamper-evident plunger rod locking device once a dose of medication has been injected by pushing the plunger rod forward, for preventing inadvertent re-use of the syringe.
