WEARABLE DEVICE FOR MANAGING ALCOHOL-DRIVEN VIOLENCE
A wearable device 100 for managing alcohol-driven violence is disclosed. The device 100 comprises a capsule C1 adapted to sense sweat of wearer and detect a level of alcohol in the sweat, a capsule C3 adapted to convert a data detected by the capsule C1 to generate signal activating a capsule C4, a capsule C2 adapted to provide power to the capsule C3, and a capsule C5 adapted to detect a muscle activity of the wearer, wherein the capsule C4 is adapted to inject a drug into the body of the wearer, when activated, and wherein the capsule C5 alerts authorities when no muscle activity is detected.
TRANSDERMAL COLD ATMOSPHERIC PLASMA-MEDIATED IMMUNE CHECKPOINT BLOCKADE THERAPY
A cold atmospheric plasma (CAP)-mediated ICB therapy/delivery device are disclosed herein that employs a patch having microneedles that are used to deliver the CAP transdermally along with an immune checkpoint inhibitor for enhancing transdermal treatment efficacy. The hollow-structured microneedle patch can facilitate the transportation of CAP through the skin, causing tumor cell death. The release of cancer antigens then promotes the maturation of dendritic cells in the tumor-draining lymph nodes, subsequently initiating the T cell-mediated immune response. Anti-PDL1 antibody (aPDL1), an immune checkpoint inhibitor (or other immune checkpoint inhibitors), released from the microneedle patch (in some embodiments) further augments the anti-tumor immunity. The transdermal combinational CAP and ICB therapy inhibits tumor growth for both primary tumors as well as distant tumors, with prolonged survival in the tumor-bearing mice. Such results should translate to other species.
MICRONEEDLE ARRAYS FOR ACTIVE AGENT DELIVERY
The present invention provides for microneedle arrays and related systems and methods. Particularly, microneedle arrays that are configured to deliver active agents, including nucleic acids and vaccines, are provided. Additional related methods of vaccinating and minimizing the amount of vaccine necessary for effective inoculation are also provided.
MICRONEEDLE ARRAY AND METHOD OF USE
An article (100) comprising at least one microneedle (160) is provided. The article comprises a first side (112) and a second side (114) opposite the first side. The first side comprises a central cavity portion (120) and a platform portion (130), with at least one microneedle extending therefrom, wherein the platform portion is not coplanar with the central cavity portion. The platform portion substantially surrounds the central cavity portion. The at least one microneedle comprises a body comprising an outer surface (163); a base segment (166) having a base (162) and a first shape; a tip segment (168) having a tip and a second shape, wherein the second shape is distinct from the first shape; a transition plane (167) that delineates the base segment and the tip segment; and a central axis (180). Methods of using the article are also provided.
Device for delivery of rheumatoid arthritis medication
Disclosed are devices for delivering a rheumatoid arthritis drug across a dermal barrier. The devices include microneedles for penetrating the stratum corneum and also include structures fabricated on a surface of the microneedles to form a nanotopography. A random or non-random pattern of structures may be fabricated such as a complex pattern including structures of differing sizes and/or shapes. The pattern of structures on the surface of the microneedles may include nano-sized structures.
COSMETIC INJECTOR ON WHICH MICRONEEDLES FOR INDUCING ABSORPTION OF COSMETICS ARE MOUNTED, AND MANUFACTURING METHOD THEREFOR
The present invention relates to a cosmetic injector on which microneedles for inducing the absorption of cosmetics are mounted, the injector comprising: an accommodation part for accommodating cosmetics; a head part having a flow path in through which cosmetics flow; a microneedle part which is fixed to the head part, and which is inserted into the skin so as to cause the cosmetics to penetrate the skin; and a pumping part for transferring, to the head part, the cosmetics accommodated in the accommodation part, wherein the head part includes: a first head part for receiving the cosmetics from the pumping part; and a second head part coupled to the upper portion of the first head part, and the microneedle part includes: a microneedle plate provided between the first head part and the second head part; and a plurality of microneedles which extend from the microneedle plate so as to protrude toward the upper surface of the second head part, and which guide, into the skin, the cosmetics discharged from the head part.
DEVICES AND METHODS FOR COSMETIC SKIN RESURFACING
Disclosed herein are devices (e.g., needles (e.g., hollow needles), hollow staples, articles, apparatuses, and systems), kits, and methods for treating skin and skin conditions, for example, by promoting skin tightening, such as by reducing skin laxity and reducing tissue area or volume.
Method for manufacturing microprojection unit
A method for manufacturing a microprojection unit (10) according to the invention involves: a microprojection tool forming step of forming a microprojection tool (1) by bringing a projecting mold part (11) into contact from one surface (2D) side of a base sheet (2A) including a thermoplastic resin, and thus forming a protrusion (3) that protrudes from another surface (2U) side, and withdrawing the projecting mold part (11) from the interior of the protrusion (3); a joining step of joining the one surface (2D) side of the base sheet (2A), in which the microprojection tool (1) has been formed, and a tip end of a base component (4); and a cutting step of cutting the base sheet (2A), to which the base component (4) has been joined, along a contour (4L) of the base component (4) at a position more inward than the base component's contour (4L) in a planar view of the base sheet (2A) as viewed from the microprojection tool (1) side, to manufacture a microprojection unit (10).
Iontophoretic microneedle device

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR MEDICAL DEVICE ANCHORING
This disclosure sets forth various systems and methods for deploying anchored medical devices within a human or animal. The medical devices may deliver payloads, such as various sensors, electrodes, transmitters, cameras, electrical or other interventional devices, drugs or therapeutics. The devices may have one or more anchors, which attach the device to an anatomy of interest. This allows for methods and processes to be performed over periods of time, such as extended delivery of a therapy or real time sensing of characteristics inside a body, which the device remains within a given location.
