The present disclosure provides a valve for a respiratory mask. The valve includes a valve housing including a valve seat and an inlet. The valve includes a valve flap at least partially received within the valve housing. The valve flap is sealingly engaged with the valve seat in a closed configuration and is disengaged from the valve seat in a plurality of open configurations. The valve flap includes a tubular projection extending away from the valve seat along a longitudinal axis. The plurality of open configurations includes a first open configuration and a second open configuration. The valve further includes a pin slidably received through the valve housing and coupled to the tubular projection. The pin and the valve flap are together movable along the longitudinal axis relative to the valve seat. The valve further includes a valve cage coupled to the valve housing.

A mouth closure mask includes a flexible sheet having an adhesive on a back facing surface thereof, the adhesive provided for adhering the mask to the face of a wearer. A port is defined through a portion of the sheet. The port allows access between in the inside and outside of a wearer's mouth when the port is uncovered. A retaining flange is disposed on the flexible sheet adjected to the port. A seal is configured to selectively engage the retaining flange to restrict access to the port when the seal and retaining flange are engaged.

A mouth closure mask includes a flexible sheet having an adhesive on a back facing surface thereof, the adhesive provided for adhering the mask to the face of a wearer. A port is defined through a portion of the sheet. The port allows access between in the inside and outside of a wearer's mouth when the port is uncovered. A retaining flange is disposed on the flexible sheet adjected to the port. A seal is configured to selectively engage the retaining flange to restrict access to the port when the seal and retaining flange are engaged.

METHOD OF TREATING SPINAL DISK

A method of treating a spinal disk according to the present invention can include inserting an alloplastic bulking agent into the spinal disk to treat the defect. The alloplastic bulking agent has a plurality of microparticles and a suspending agent comprising hyaluronic acid. The bulking agent results in at least one of sealing the defect, increasing a pressure of the disk, increasing a height of the disk, improving stability of the disk and improving structural integrity of the disk.

METHOD OF TREATING SPINAL DISK

A method of treating a spinal disk according to the present invention can include inserting an alloplastic bulking agent into the spinal disk to treat the defect. The alloplastic bulking agent has a plurality of microparticles and a suspending agent comprising hyaluronic acid. The bulking agent results in at least one of sealing the defect, increasing a pressure of the disk, increasing a height of the disk, improving stability of the disk and improving structural integrity of the disk.

PRESSURE SAFETY DEVICE FOR BAG VALVE MASK

A pressure safety device is used with a bag valve mask (BVM) for preventing over-pressurization. The BVM includes a bag assembly having a bag connector for detachably mating to a mask connector on a patient mask. The pressure safety device has a housing with a bag port, a mask fitting, and a flow path from the bag port to the mask fitting. The bag port detachably connects to the bag connector on the BVM, and the mask fitting detachably connects to the mask connector on the BVM. The pressure safety device includes an automatic flow reduction valve located on the flow path in the housing and impedes flow when pressure on a bag connector side of the valve exceeds a maximum threshold value.

The valve cover includes a fixed member and a movable member that is movable to different height positions relative to the fixed member and includes a pressing portion. When a user holds and rotates the movable member, the pressing portion is movable between a closed position of pressing against the flap, and an open position of separating from the flap. An opening on the valve seat is constantly in a blocked state when the pressing portion is in the closed position, or is subject to user's exhalation to change between the blocked state and a circulating state when the pressing portion is in the open position. Thus, the user may adjust the usage state of the face mask valve according to personal need and change the way the exhaled air leaves the face mask.

Methods of making the same are also disclosed.
