A relief apparatus and method of use for providing a flexible connection point between straps of a harness and mitigating suspension trauma for a user of the harness. In various embodiments, the relief apparatus comprises a base plate comprising one or more base strap slots and a central cavity defined by a cavity wall protruding out of a plane of the base plate, and an upper plate comprising one or more upper strap slots and an aperture configured to fit around the cavity wall of the base plate. The base plate and the upper plate are arrange concentrically along a central axis and may be configured to each rotate about the central axis. The relief apparatus further comprises a relief step comprised of a line and having a proximal end and a distal end, the distal end being secured to a deployment feature.

Rope Grab
20230226382 · 2023-07-20 ·

The rope grab uses friction to control movement along the rope. A brake has an eye at one end and a foot at the other that extends away at an angle to a rounded toe. Optionally, the eye and foot are attached so as to swivel. A cam has an oval rocker and a lever that extends from the rocker opposite the rocker surface. The rocker surface curves eccentrically about an axis, so the rocker behaves like a cam to modulate friction on the rope. The rope extends through a slot and is pinched between an operative surface of the rocker surface and the toe. The brake and cam are held in the correct position relative to each other between two parallel walls of a housing with the eye and lever extending in generally opposite directions outside the housing. Optional springs bias the brake toe and operative surface into the slot.

FALL PROTECTION EQUIPMENT HAVING INDUCTIVE SENSOR FOR CONNECTION STATUS AND CONTROL

Techniques are described for monitoring and controlling fall protection equipment. For example, the techniques of this disclosure may be used to monitor the connection status of fall protection equipment, e.g., whether or not the fall protection equipment is connected to a support structure. The techniques described in the disclosure may determine whether the fall protection equipment is connected to a support structure based on changes in a resonant frequency of an electronic circuit of an inductive sensor within the fall protection equipment. The inductive sensor may be formed from sets of one or more coils, where a first set of one or more coils and a second set of one or more coils are wound in opposite directions.

Fall-Protection System with Monitoring System

A fall-protection system including a harness and a fall-protection apparatus with a lifeline bearing a connector configured to be connected to the harness; and, a fall-protection monitoring system with a base unit and with at least one sensor module configured to sense a condition of the connector and to communicate a signal indicative of the condition of the connector to the base unit.

Body harness system

A body harness system includes a body harness having a first portion for providing resting position to a user. The body harness includes a plurality of belts with offset buckles connected to the body of the first portion, for supporting body of the user. A first pair of shoulder straps are connected at a first end and an undercarriage support is connected at a second end of the first portion. An abdominal support is connected to the undercarriage support via abdominal support connection straps. The undercarriage support runs from the second end of the first portion to the abdominal support, for supporting the user's groin area. The body harness system includes an elastic cord support system connected to one or more attachment rings, for controlling at least one of initial bodyweight offset, amount of bodyweight resistance, and maximum allowable downward stop for each user.

Fall Alerting Assembly
