A weight plate includes a first section having an annular shape with a passage extending axially through the first section and configured to receive an elongated member therethrough, and a second section having an annular shape and positioned radially outward of the first section, where the second section includes first and second outer surfaces on opposite axial sides of the weight plate with an axial thickness defined between the first and second outer surfaces. The second section has a plurality of recesses each extending axially inward from the first and second outer surfaces at least partially through the axial thickness of the second section.

The method includes providing a plurality of solid fragments including at least one non-thermoplastic material. The method further includes providing a plurality of solid particles including at least one thermoplastic polymer and/or elastomer material, at least 75% of the solid fragments having sizes in a fragment size range from zero to 32 millimeters and at least 75% of the solid particles having sizes in a article size range from zero to 1.5 millimeters. The method further includes forming a mixture of the plurality of solid fragments and the plurality of solid particles, the mixture including 90% to 20% of the fragments by volume and 10% to 80% of the particles by volume. The method further includes molding or extruding the mixture into a unitary element through the application of heat and/or pressure.

The present invention includes a support bar member that is manufactured from bamboo having a hollow passage extending therethrough. An internal support rod is present within the support bar member and extends the length thereof. Opposing ends of the internal support rod are configured to receive fasteners thereof so as to secure a first weight member and a second weight member. The first weight member and the second weight member are manufactured in a preferred embodiment from natural stones. In a preferred embodiment the first weight member and the second weight member have different weights. The first weight member and second weight member include recesses formed on the surface thereof operable to receive a portion of the ends of the support bar member.

Each of a pair of wheels is engaged to the lower end of a respective post so that the wheel is perpendicular to a plane defined by the pair of posts. The wheels allow locomotion of the posts across a surface. A bracket is engaged to and extends between the posts and is positioned between the upper ends and the lower ends of the posts. Each of a set of weights is selectively engageable to the bracket. The weights provide resistance to the user in moving the rod relative to the user and the surface.

The O-ring housing is designed to retain the bearing assembly in such a way that the user can move the bearing assembly in a circular motion within the O-ring housing. The crossbar facilitates the handling of the O-ring housing with one or two hands in order for the user to move the bearing assembly in a circular motion within the O-ring housing. The control system helps the user keep track of the movement of the bearing assembly so that the user can measure the exercise progress while handling the apparatus.

A base comprises an interlocking weight carrier, wherein the interlocking weights are supported on the interlocking weight carrier and an interlocking weight selector, wherein the interlocking weight selector is adapted to cause interlocking weights to be set to be locked to the permanent weight assembly while the permanent weight assembly is not on the base, wherein placement of the permanent weight assembly on the base causes interlocking weights that are set to be locked to the permanent weight assembly to be locked to the permanent weight assembly, and wherein placement of the permanent weight assembly on the base does not cause interlocking weights that are not set to be locked to the permanent weight assembly to be locked to the permanent weight assembly.

A slide retainer is then slid into a slideway on the any one adder weight to overlie the dumbbell and secure the dumbbell to the any one adder weight. The slide retainer has a window therein to allow a user to reach through the slide retainer and grip a hand grip of the dumbbell.

The unit is connected to the cable and includes an elastomeric body that provides the elastic resistance and also includes an arc plate that provides a curved support member on which a portion of the elastomeric body at least partially wraps around. Movement of the arc plate causes the elastomeric body to stretch and to provide the elastic resistance.
