Badminton training and conditioning system and method
A computerized software system helps badminton players improve their footwork and conditioning. The system reads information from stored training modules in a portable computing device. In one mode, the system displays an indicator arrow to one of six corners on a badminton court image. A player moves on a real badminton court or other suitable surface in the direction indicated by the arrow displayed on the badminton court image. The arrow represents a fake and is displayed randomly or in sequence to all six corners. The speed the arrow flashes from corner to corner is adjustable. In another mode, the system randomly displays an indicator symbol on an opposing badminton court image to indicate an area of the court a player is to return a fed bird. A user may select a training module having either timed training sets or count training sets.
Sporting apparatus with monitoring device
A sporting apparatus includes a monitoring device. The monitoring device may add no weight to the sporting apparatus relative to a comparable sporting apparatus without the monitoring device. The monitoring device may have a center of gravity substantially aligning with the center of gravity of the sporting apparatus, resulting in a sporting apparatus with a monitor having substantially the same center of gravity as a comparable sporting apparatus without a monitor. The sporting apparatus monitor may be configured to trim unreliable post impact swing data and replace it with extrapolated pre-impact swing data and/or more reliable post impact swing data.
Arcuate motion apparatus and method
A training or exercise apparatus may have a base and an adjacent movable armature or frame that carries a riding member, or shuttle, or carrier. The carrier has an engagement interface with an element of sporting or exercise equipment. The sporting or exercise equipment is engaged by the user, typically by being grasped. The apparatus may include a manual or electronic means of imposing resistance to the motion. This resistance may be adjustable, and may be programmable as a function of one or both of position and speed. The apparatus may include an array of sensors such as may be used to determine the pre-existing stroke, and such as may be monitored during training to assess progress. The apparatus may be operated passively, or it may be operated interactively in a manner in which real-time feedback causes the apparatus to adjust resistance to the motion.
Sport training on augmented/virtual reality devices by measuring hand-eye coordination-based measurements
A method, computer system, and computer program product for sport training on an augmented reality device or a virtual reality device is provided. The embodiment may include capturing a plurality of user movement data using one or more sensors. The embodiment may also include measuring a user body and eye gaze position based on the plurality of captured user movement data. The embodiment may further include calculating a body position difference by comparing the measured user body and eye gaze position with an expert-specified body position sequence. The embodiment may also include determining a body position quality threshold is not satisfied based on the calculated body position difference. The embodiment may further include generating an instruction based on the compared calculated body position difference.
Kinect-based auxiliary training system for basic badminton movements
A Kinect-based auxiliary training system for basic badminton movements, includes a data collection module, a movement feature extraction and recognition module, and a movement standard degree analysis and guidance module. The data collection module is provided with a Kinect v2 somatosensory device for monitoring athletes in real time, and collecting 3D coordinate data of 25 joint points of athletes' whole body. The movement feature extraction and recognition module is provided for establishing a standard template, and obtaining a similarity between the movement data and the standard template. The movement standard degree analysis and guidance module is provided for determining a category of the current movement of the user to be tested according to the similarity, and further analyzing whether the current movement of the user to be tested meets a standard according to a threshold range of the bone included angle set by a technology evaluation rule.
Eye gaze training device and method
An eye gaze training device is disclosed, including associated methods to record an impact and to provide a cue or feedback with a proper delay between action and instinctual eye tracking, improve hand-eye coordination, and thereby to improve one's performance in a sport, athletic event, or the like. This training device and associated methods provides for detection, recording, classification, translation, transmission, and learning, all associated with teaching and learning the proper way of striking an object with another object with proper hand-eye coordination. In various embodiments associated systems and methods of the eye gaze training device are included. In at least one embodiment, the eye gaze training device includes a microcontroller, impact sensor, power source, feedbacks, alert device, control settings and switches, accelerometers, position detectors, any one or more of which may be used in an eye gaze training device, as well as additional devices such as headbands, waist devices, leg devices.

Tennis training apparatus
A sports training/exercise apparatus attached to a swinging sports apparatus, typically a racquet and most specifically a tennis racquet. The apparatus includes a drag chute with a rigid member disposed therearound and a clamp secured to each side of the drag chute. A transverse support rod is positioned between the clamps and includes an aperture therein. The apparatus further includes brackets at the top and bottom of the racquet head. A longitudinal support rod is positioned between the brackets and extends through the aperture in the transverse support rod. Thus, the transverse support rod, the side clamps, and the drag chute are slidable along the longitudinal support rod to adjust resistance. A locking mechanism can be used to lock the transverse support rod in a position along the longitudinal support rod.
Method of producing an aerial projectile for racket sport training/practice or amusement purposes
A training/practice/amusement projectile comprises a ball with optimal baffling and rebounding characteristics for play and training of hand-eye coordination and motor skills. The ball generally includes a combination of bounce and baffling elements. In one embodiment the bounce and baffling elements respectively comprise densely packed loops of filament, and individual filament strands of lesser density, both radiating from a core of the ball. A novel method of fabrication includes winding wider and narrower loops of filament, bundling same together at a cinched core, and then cutting the wider loops to form the strands radiating outward inched core to impart a generally spherical outer shape to the ball.
