FIELD GAME
Field games comprise a playing field having a defined area at only one end of the playing field, and a remaining area. The defined area is configured to accommodate a player having possession of a ball therein, and may be configured to prevent entry from one or more direction, or may be configured to permit access from all sides. The field game may be played by two teams of players, initially positioned at different locations of the playing field, where one team has the objective of putting one or more of its players in the defined area with possession of one or more balls and thereby scoring, and where the other team has the objective of trying to prevent the opposite team from its objective of scoring. Teams switch objectives after the team in possession scores with its balls and/or loses possession of its balls, and play is quickly resumed.
IMPACT-REDUCING DASHER BOARD ASSEMBLY
Devices and methods for dasher board assemblies for sports such as hockey. The dasher board assemblies of various embodiments are configured to reduce impact forces when a user collides with the assembly by increasing the flexibility of the dasher board, which allows for a more gradual deceleration. In some embodiments, the dasher board assembly defines a gap behind the dasher board to allow space for deceleration. In certain embodiments, a foam material is placed between the dasher board and a frame of the assembly. In embodiments, a spline connects adjacent dasher boards without rigid connection to adjacent vertical frame elements. In embodiments, the assembly is configured to provide puck play characteristics that are comparable to conventional dasher board assemblies.
Modified boule based game
The present invention relates to a new and inventive combination game combining aspects of ball and/or bowling games. The invention further relates to a game set comprising all elements necessary to perform the game and to a method of playing a combined game.
BORDER ELEMENT ARRANGEMENT
A border element arrangement includes two or more border elements abutting each other side-by-side. The elements have a frame provided with end bars and a structure connecting the end bars at least in the top part and bottom part of the frame, and disposed to be supported by the frame is a digital display that is capable of displaying a moving image. The display has one or more display panels. In both end bars is a recess, inside which the display is disposed at the point of the end bar.
Method of Game Playing of Forehand Strike
A method of game playing known as Forehand Strike™ according to the present invention is a game being played on a court having a pair of service areas on each side of a net using a slow bouncing ball and a hand covering and striking the slow bouncing ball with a forehand shot. The method includes bouncing the slow bouncing ball one time and serving a shot diagonally over the net into an opposite service area of player 2 using a palm of a first user's hand, striking a return shot over the net and into either one of the pair of service areas of the first player, each player continuing to return a subsequent shot across the net and into one of the two service areas of an opposing player after the slow bouncing ball has bounced only once until one of the subsequent shots lands outside both of the service areas of the opposing player, and awarding a point to the player making a last valid shot into one of the service areas of the opposing player. Additionally, each player continues to return a subsequent shot across the net and into one of the two service areas of an opposing player after the slow bouncing ball has bounced only once until one of the subsequent shots lands within one of the service areas of the opposing player and bounces a second time before a next return shot is made and the point is awarded to the player making a last valid shot into one of the service areas of the opposing player.
Sports ball rebound and boundary system
A sports ball rebound and boundary system including at least one portable post portion, configured to in use stand upright unsupported, and a barrier portion. The post portion and the barrier portion are configured for mutual releasable connection so that at least part of the barrier portion is extendible from the post portion to form a substantially vertically aligned planar barrier extending upwards from substantially ground level. The barrier portion is further configured to in use remain under sufficient tension to cause a ball or similar to rebound when striking the barrier.
Modular connector system
A modular connector system for facilitating the construction of a playing area or non-playing area, such as an outdoor or backyard ice hockey or skating rink, a netted or lighted area, sand box, garden, and the like. Spanning boards and/or inserted poles can be used to join side connectors to corner connectors and to side connectors to form a free standing, fully enclosed, partially enclosed, walled-in, netted, or partitioned area.
SPORTS WALL ASSEMBLY
Rate of deceleration is an important factor in determining the severity of injuries, such as head and neck injuries, possibly sustained when participants collide with a wall assembly while playing, for example, ice hockey. The described wall assemblies each include a support assembly and a movable wall assembly supported by and movable with respect to the support assembly. Telescoping parts of the movable wall assembly enable deflection of the movable wall assembly to complex angles with respect to the support assembly. In addition, movable wall assemblies can be couple such that impact on one wall assembly can cause deflection of an adjacent wall assembly. Covers, shields, and spacers can be positioned to decrease gap formation during deflection of the movable wall assembly to reduce the risk of pinch points.
Diverging and converging swells to make surfing waves
Disclosed in the current invention is a way to build a low cost and highly efficient surf pool by using diverging and converging swells to create waves for surfing. When a plurality of individual plunger wave generating devices or a single triangle pyramid shaped plunger, force a diverging swell into a first end of a surf pool. The swell then diverges or expands outward until the swell is wide enough to break over an artificial surfing reef. When a plurality of individual plunger wave generating devices in different opposite locations in the surf pool pushes a swell into the surf pool, as the swell transverses it converges into a single swell, which then continues to travel and breaks over an artificial surfing reef.
Rink safety system and procedure
A movable dasher board system optimizes user safety in a hockey rink or similar arena. A bottom structure, provided by a sliding bottom surface or roller assembly, has low friction characteristics, typically a μ.sub.s of 0.05 or less with respect to ice if a sliding surface, or if roller bearings an effective coefficient of rolling friction 0.04 or less. A dasher board assembly is operatively connected to and extends upwardly from the bottom structure. Biasing and impact force absorbing devices (such as pneumatic or hydraulic or spring-encasing telescoping tubes, or foam, gel, or compression springs) bias the bottom structure and dasher board assembly to a desired position and absorb the impact of a human hitting the dasher board assembly to minimize the possibility of injury to the human. The system may be installed in a pre-existing rink or other arena.
