Board game system and method
A board game system comprises a game board, having a surface adapted to receive a board game overlay, a detector array adapted to detect the respective positions of a plurality of game pieces placed on top of the board game overlay, and a transmitter adapted to transmit data indicating the respective positions to an entertainment device; and an entertainment device, having a receiver adapted to receive from the game board data indicating the respective positions of the plurality of game pieces, a game state analyser operable to update the state of a game in dependence upon the indicated respective positions of the plurality of game pieces, and an image generator operable to generate an image for output to a display, the content of the image being responsive to the detected state of the game.
RECONFIGURABLE BOARD GAME SYSTEM
A reconfigurable boardgame system herein comprises a reconfigurable boardgame board (e.g., four panel tri-fold) with a plurality of “page-retaining corner members” in corners of board panels, allowing interchanging customized boardgame pages. In one embodiment, only those corners of each panel that are exteriorly located on the board have corresponding corner members (leaving the center unobstructed). In another embodiment, the boardgame board is contained within a reconfigurable boardgame kit, which may comprise reusable (e.g., generic and shared) game pieces (dice, timers, pawns, etc.) for use by many games. In still another embodiment, the boardgame kit comprises blank and/or templated items to be filled in, such as boardgame panels, cards, customized dice, game pawn blanks, rules templates, etc. Envelopes may store the game panel pages, rules, and custom pieces of each individual boardgame, to be stored in the kit and used with the reconfigurable boardgame board and the generic reusable game pieces.
WEIGHTED LAP PAD
A weighted lap pad comprising a base having a body-conforming configuration adapted to be placed across a lap of a seated user, the base having a plurality of channels having weights permanently enclosed within respective channels, the weights having a cumulative weight of greater than 2 pounds and a transparent window positioned at a surface of the base and in part defining a device pocket configured to receive a paper device or electronic touch screen device. The transparent window and associated pocket allowing a user to experience visual and multi-media sensation while simultaneously receiving tactile sensation of the weighted pad. The electronic device also allows for a variety of user control and sensory feedback options.

Gamebook with a spinner mechanic
A gamebook with a spinner mechanic is provided that allows a player to enact an interactive activity such as but not limited to dungeon exploration, art creation, board game, or maze. The gamebook provides the spinner mechanic under the activity sheets, with cutout sections enabling players to see and interact with the spinner on every sheet of the gamebook. Tabbed sheets may provide player instructions for activities, enabling complex activities and algorithms to be enacted in a gamebook medium. The gamebook may have pullout sections to track activity progress such as a pullout page that unfolds with progress trackers such as paperclips attached for further player interaction. This gamebook with a spinner mechanic may also be provided in a digital medium to enact the same interactive activity experience for players who do not have access to a physical gamebook.
GAME BOARD AND GAME APPARATUS INCLUDING SAME
A game apparatus includes a first total number of playing-pieces and an article of manufacture including: a grid structure which is sufficiently flexible so as to be substantially conformable to a surface of a substrate on which the grid structure is disposable; apertures in the grid structure exposing corresponding portions of the surface of the substrate on which the grid structure is disposable; areas of the apertures being sized to accommodate corresponding playing-pieces of a game; and a second total number of the apertures being sufficient to accommodate the first total number of the playing-pieces.
Business simulation board game devices and methods
A business-simulation board game kit and/or associated computer systems allow users to play a business-simulation board game simulating a business and/or economy comprising multiple business segments. A board game kit comprises multiple collections of playing pieces, a game board, game currency pieces, and game-specific dice. Each player's collection of playing pieces comprises playing pieces representing business segments. Each playing piece represents one business segment, and a business segment is represented by multiple playing pieces. The game board defines a grid of game board areas arranged along one axis by business complexity and along another axis by value. Players place, move and remove playing pieces to/from the board during expansion, restructuring, and conclusion game phases. An alignment of a player's playing pieces along the board yields a game currency bonus for the player. Industry- and/or scenario-specific transparent scenario layers may be added to the board.
GAME SURFACE SYSTEMS
Game surface systems configured to display a game sheet on a play surface. The game surface systems include a first module configured to support and protect the game sheet. The first module includes a back member and a cover sheet. The back member abuts the rear surface of the game sheet and is disposed between the game sheet and the play surface. The cover sheet abuts the display face of the game sheet and covers the game sheet. The game sheet includes a display face facing away from the play surface and a rear face facing the play surface. The cover sheet is coupled to the back member. In some examples, the game surface system includes a frame. In certain examples, the game surface system includes a transition module and a transition sheet.
Mechanical-mathematical diagonal number board game
A game timer, a game board cartridge, and a plurality of game boards for inserting into the game board cartridge are provided. A play base has a plurality of grids and plurality of timer spots for receiving the game timer with each grid having a plurality of holding cells for receiving one of the plurality of numbered game tiles. A game board cartridge carrier for removeably holding the game board cartridge with the game board cartridge receives at least one of the plurality of game boards. A plurality of numbered game tiles with each of the plurality of tiles having playing tile indicia corresponding to an integer selected within the range of 0 to 9 is provided. The game board cartridge is positioned over the play base and can be rotated in relation thereto. Each of the plurality of game boards is marked with a game board grid having a plurality of rows and columns forming a plurality of squares, with each of the plurality of squares having a game board indicia corresponding to an integer selected within the range of 0 to 9, and with none of the integers repeating within the same row, same column, or with respect to a connecting diagonal square. The plurality of tiles are drawn during game play, so that a player can make a diagonal connection to score points by matching the playing tile indicia with the game board indicia during a predetermined time period measured by the game timer.
CONFIGURABLE GAME APPARATUS
A game apparatus includes a playing surface having a plurality of playing areas and marking areas. Each of the playing and marking areas includes a plurality of holes arranged into a grid, wherein each of the marking areas is paired with a corresponding playing area. The game apparatus further includes a plurality of playing elements, which form a hidden code and at least one test code, and a plurality of marker elements, which indicate the correlation between the positions of each playing element forming the test code and the positions of the playing elements forming the hidden code. The playing surface of the game apparatus is configurable such that the arrangement of the playing area grids can be selected.
