HYDROFOIL IMPELLER
A hydrofoil impeller wherein the tip edge is straight and has a right angle with a radius extending from the central axis to the tip edge. In the central hub and in each of the blades the number of holes in each group of first and second holes is at least five. The pattern in which the holes are arranged in each of the respective groups of holes is elliptical having a center and a major axis which is substantially parallel to the radius and placed at a distance therefrom. The leading edge is, in the direction to rotation, behind an imaginary radial line intersecting the central axis of the shaft and the center of the ellipse, said leading edge being at an angle of 58°±2° in relation to the radial line. The area of the blade is divided into four planar portions by three straight bends.
PROPELLER FOR A DIGESTION TANK MIXER
A propeller for a digestion tank mixer. The propeller has a hub and at least two blades. Each blade has an outer geometrical plane parallel to a center axis, perpendicular to a radius of the propeller, intersecting both a leading edge and a trailing edge of the blade, and an inner geometrical plane parallel to the outer geometrical plane and tangent to the hub. Each intermediate geometrical plane of the blade has an arc-shaped cross section extending between the leading edge and the trailing edge, and a chord extending between the leading edge and the trailing edge. An angle between the chord and a radial plane of the propeller is 25-45 degrees in each intermediate geometrical plane. The ratio between an arc-height between the chord and the thrust side surface, and the length of the chord, is 0.08-0.15 in each intermediate geometrical plane.

REACTOR FILTER WASHER DRIER (R-FWD) APPARATUS AND METHODS OF USE THEREOF
A reactor filter washer dryer (R-FWD) apparatus and methods of using the apparatus for producing washed and dried product of a reaction is disclosed. The R-FWD comprises a vessel defining a process chamber, a filter plate laterally disposed on the vessel base, an agitator assembly, a solids discharge port in the vessel operable to remove the solid fraction of the slurry retained by the filter plate, and a filtrate outlet in the vessel for outflowing the liquid phase of the slurry filtered through the filter plate.
Low shear, low velocity differential, impeller having a progressively tapered hub volume with periods formed into a bottom surface, systems and methods for suspension cell culturing
Disclosed is an impeller for mixing a fluid wherein the impeller is fashioned so as to substantially reduce areas of fluid acceleration and deceleration around a hub region of the impeller during fluid mixing. Additionally, a bioreactor system having microcarriers, kit of parts and cell culturing method are also provided. The impeller has a generally circularly shaped hub having a downwardly directed progressively tapered volume which has plurality of periods formed therein corresponding to the number of increasingly arced blades. Each of the increasingly arced blades flare outwards to a distal end region of the impeller and have an increasing radius to said arc towards a peripheral edge region of said hub. The flare to the increasingly arced blades defines a larger circumference than that of said hub, thereby imparting a generally frusto-conical shape to the impeller. A method mixing a fluid using the impeller disclosed herein is also disclosed.
