ADSORBENT AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING SAME
Provided is an adsorbent for removal of iodide ions and iodate ions, which exhibits excellent adsorption performance of iodide ions and iodate ions. An adsorbent according to the present invention comprises cerium(IV) hydroxide and a poorly soluble silver compound. It is preferable that the content of cerium(IV) hydroxide is 50% by mass or more and 99% by mass or less, and the content of the poorly soluble silver compound is 1% by mass or more and 50% by mass or less. It is also preferable that the poorly soluble silver compound is at least one selected from silver zeolite, silver phosphate, silver chloride, and silver carbonate.
CATALYST MEDIUM COMPRISING HOLLOW MICROSPHERES
The present invention relates to a calcined medium, in particular a catalyst or a catalyst medium or an adsorbent/absorbent mass, in particular in the form of extrudates, pellets, granules or beads, the medium comprising a porous matrix comprising carbonates, clays, zeolites, oxides, or metal and/or silicon hydroxides, and the matrix incorporating hollow mineral microspheres having a different composition in a content of between 0.3 and 50% by weight, in particular between 0.5 and 15% by weight, of the matrix.
CO2 capture in dry atmospheric air and molecular sieves of carbon using mantle peridotite and silica gel electrolysis method
A collection of systems joined together and formed into a processes to capture CO2 in the dry atmospheric air using an air vacuum pump with attached big fan. The big fan suctions the air while the air vacuum pump pulls the air/gases into the air storage tank. The air/gas being transferred to the built-in freezer in order to freeze it and defrost the ice to liquid. The liquid is drained and transferred to the liquid storage tank. An electrolysis chamber that contains silica gel and peridotite powder allow the separation of molecules upon the application of electrical field. The aqueous silica gel mixed with peridotite powder is the medium serve as an absolute molecular sieves of carbon molecules. A tracking dye is added to the peridotite powder to track the movement of molecules. The liquified gases are injected to the aqueous silica gel. Electrolysis begins by connecting the anode and cathode points to the power supply and electrolysis chamber. When the power supply is switch-on migration of molecules towards the anode and cathode takes place due to electrical field generated by volts. The carbonate ion migrate to the anode side and reacts to the cation (+) of the calcium of the peridotite rocks powder to form calcium carbonate.
Method for preparing solids from a mixture of at least one malachite powder and an oxide powder and the use of said solids
The invention relates to a method for preparing a solid comprising the mixture of a set of compounds comprising at least one Cu.sub.2(OH).sub.2CO.sub.3 powder, one metal oxide powder selected from the group of metals consisting of copper, zinc, iron, manganese and mixtures thereof, and at least one binder as well as the use of the solid prepared by means of this method.
Composition for mineralizing carbon dioxide and nitrogen oxide gases and uses thereof
The invention relates to a composition for mineralising carbon dioxide and nitrogen oxide gases, which comprises a mixture of magnesium (between 1 and 25%), iron (between 1 and 23%), calcium monoxide (between 1 and 25%), titanium dioxide (between 0.1 and 11%) and silicon dioxide (between 16 and 75%), with a particle diameter between 100 nm and 4000 μm. The composition causes the mineralisation of carbon dioxide (CO.sub.2) and of the gaseous chemical compounds known as “nitrogen oxides” (NO.sub.x) in the atmosphere. This composition can be added or mixed as an additive in paints, dyes, resins and elastic polymers (gum and natural rubber) in parts with wear, and for any type of covering.
Cation exchange materials for dialysis systems
A sorbent cartridge device includes an ion-exchange material containing zirconium phosphate and no more than about 0.1 mg of leachable phosphate ions per about 1 g of the ion-exchange material. In one example, the cartridge also includes a phosphate-adsorbing material containing zirconium oxide. In this example, the weight ratio between zirconium phosphate and zirconium oxide in the cartridge is from about 10:1 to about 40:1. The zirconium phosphate may be alkaline zirconium phosphate prepared by a process including the following steps: (i) drying acid zirconium phosphate to obtain a dry acid zirconium phosphate; (ii) combining the dry acid zirconium phosphate with an aqueous solution to obtain an aqueous slurry; and (iii) combining the slurry with an alkali hydroxide to obtain the alkaline zirconium phosphate. During step (ii), any free phosphate ions in the dry acid zirconium phosphate leach out into the aqueous phase of the slurry.
MICROPOROUS POLYMERIC FILTERING ARTICLE WITH SORPTION PARTICLES
An article for removing undesired chemical ions or compounds from gas and fluid streams where the article is a porous polymeric matrix with a sorption particle, the sorption particle is capable of removing the undesired chemical ion or compound.
GETTER CARTRIDGE FOR TOXIC GASES INSIDE VALVES
The present invention relates to cylinder packages utilized in the delivery of highly toxic and/or flammable compounds to semiconductor manufacturers. More specifically, the present invention provides a cartridge adapted to removably attach to the gas outlet of a gas discharge passageway in a cylinder valve provided on a toxic gas containing cylinder package, the cartridge comprising a cylindrically shaped housing having at least one end fitted with a barrier member permeable to the toxic gas contained within the cylinder package and the housing containing a toxic-gas getter material.
