LOW BYPASS HIGH TORQUE TURBINE AND STATOR FOR A ROTATING IRRIGATION SPRINKLER
20220395845 · 2022-12-15 ·

A rotating sprinkler for irrigation is disclosed. The sprinkler can include a stator spaced upstream from a turbine to form a mixing region therebetween. The stator can define a primary flow path and a bypass flow path. The primary flow path is aligned relative to the plurality of blades so that water exiting the primary flow path traverses the mixing region and impinges on the plurality of blades at a first angle of attack. The bypass flow path is aligned relative to the primary flow path so that water exiting the bypass flow path intersects the water exiting the primary flow path in the mixing region to cause the water exiting the primary flow path to impinge on the plurality of blades at a second angle of attack. The sprinkler can further include a valve configured to regulate flow between the primary flow path and the bypass flow path.

LOCATION AWARENESS AND GESTURE CONTROL FOR AN ELECTRONICALLY CONTROLLED SPRINKLER SYSTEM

Embodiments of the disclosure relate to automated water sprinkler systems, and more particularly to programmable electronically controlled sprinkler systems which are controllable to affect sprinkler direction and time of watering over a defined coverage pattern. The particular improvements disclosed herein relate to location awareness of the system based on physical location of the unit relative to one or more base platforms, as well as gesture/motion control of the unit for manual operation through the use of an on-board accelerometer.

Irrigation system

In accordance with one aspect, a faucet-supplied irrigation system is provided having a container, coiled tubing in the container, a plurality of pop-up sprinklers in the container, and a plurality of connectors in the container for attachment to the tubing and sprinklers. The irrigation system includes an irrigation controller in the container and a pressure regulator in the container to regulate water pressure of the supply of water to the sprinklers from the faucet. The container is configured to maintain a plurality of the coiled tubing, pop-up sprinklers, connectors, controller and regulator in a predetermined arrangement within the container.

An improved nozzle assembly includes a housing having an inlet for directing media (e.g. cleaning fluid) into the housing, and a nozzle core rotatably coupled to the housing. The nozzle core includes a sprayer shaft and a vane coupled thereto. The sprayer shaft defines a peripheral outlet, and is adapted for passage of media from the housing through the outlet. The vane is adapted to receive media from the inlet to rotationally bias the nozzle core in a first direction and radially orient the outlet to an activated position. The nozzle core is rotationally biased in a second direction opposite the first to radially orient the outlet to a home position different than the activated position. A system including the nozzle assembly, and methods of using each of the same, are also disclosed.
