CORROSION RESISTANT COATING SYSTEMS
Aspects described herein generally relate to a method of coating a metallic surface. The method includes forming a solution including a corrosion inhibitor having one or more thiol moieties and a hydroxide. The metallic surface is coated with the solution to form a treated metallic surface. The treated metallic surface is further coated with an organosilane, an acid, and a metal alkoxide to form a coating system.
TRANSFER SHEET AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING MELAMINE DECORATIVE PANEL
There is provided a transfer sheet capable of preventing film cracking in thermocompression transfer. To that end, a base material layer (2), a transfer layer (3) provided on one surface (2a) side of the base material layer (2), and an adhesion layer (4) provided on an opposite surface (3a) side to the base material layer (2) of the transfer layer (3) are included, for example. A resin constituting the transfer layer (3) is an uncured ionizing radiation curable resin. A resin constituting the adhesion layer (4) is a thermosetting resin not containing a component causing the resin to exhibit liquid repellency.
METHOD FOR THE SURFACE TREATMENT OF ALUMINIUM-BASED PARTS
A method for the surface treatment of a part made of aluminum or aluminum alloy, comprising an anodization step and a step of sealing with a silicate salt. Additionally, a surface treatment method according to the invention for manufacturing an aluminium or aluminium alloy part intended, in particular for use in the aviation sector.
Omniphilic, omniphobic, switchable, and selective wetting surfaces
A surface with selective wetting properties is described.
COMPOSITIONS AND METHODS FOR BONDING GLUES, ADHESIVES, AND COATINGS TO SURFACES
The present application provides compositions and methods for allowing surfaces such as HDPE, LDPE, polyethylene, polypropylene, Teflon (polytetrafluoroethylene), SBS, SEBS, SIS elastomers, and silicone rubber, which are notoriously difficult to apply adhesives, glues, or coatings to, to he treated with a Primer System that increases the ability of a glue, adhesive, or coating to adhere to that surface and subsequently allows other materials to be used as coatings on the surface or to be applied using a glue or adhesive.
Method for coating metal surfaces of substrates, and objects coated according to said method
A coating, a method for coating surfaces, and the coated surfaces. The method includes providing a substrate with a cleaned metal surface; contacting and coating the metal surface with an aqueous composition having a ph of from 0.5 to 7.0 and in the form of a dispersion and/or a suspension; optionally rinsing the organic coating; and drying and/or baking the organic coating, or optionally drying the organic coating and coating same with a similar or another coating composition thereto. The composition contains a complex fluoride in a quantity of 1.1 10.sup.−6 mol/l to 0.30 mol/l based on the cations. An anionic polyelectrolyte in a quantity of 0.01 to 5.0 wt % based on the total mass of the resulting mixture is added to an anionically stabilized dispersion made of film-forming polymers and/or a suspension made of film-forming inorganic particles.
Methods of filling wood voids and reducing waste in production of coated wood products
Methods of reducing waste in the production of wood products, particularly a fenestration unit, and methods of coating a solid softwood component, as well as coated wood products are provided.
COLORED COATED METAL SHEET AND EXTERIOR BUILDING MATERIAL
This colored coated metal sheet comprises a metal sheet and one or more coating films arranged on top of the metal sheet, and has a specular gloss at 60° of 60-100 and an L value of 70 or less in the Hunter Lab color system. The outermost coating film among the coating films is configured of a polyester, and contains particles that contain a coloring pigment. The particles have a D.sub.90 of from 0.05 μm to 0.70 μm, and the content of the particles in the outermost coating film is from 10% by mass to 60% by mass.
Resin-coated seamless aluminum can
A resin-coated seamless aluminum can (10) having polyester resin coatings (5, 7) on the inner and outer surfaces thereof, the polyester resin coatings (5, 7) being formed on the inner and outer surfaces of an aluminum can body (1) via non-chromium inorganic surface-treating films (3, 3), the polyester resin coatings (3, 7) being formed of a lowly crystalline polyester to which have been introduced a copolymer unit stemming from a dibasic acid and a copolymer unit stemming from a polybasic acid having a valence of 3 or more.
Corrosion resistant wheels, anticorrosion layers associated with wheels, and methods for manufacturing the same
The present invention is directed to a method for manufacturing a corrosion resistant wheel adapted for securement to a vehicle and/or trailer, including the steps of: providing a wheel body, mechanically abrading and/or chemically etching at least one surface of the wheel body, applying a primary anticorrosion composition, forming a primary anticorrosion layer, applying a secondary anticorrosion composition, and forming a secondary anticorrosion layer, applying a tertiary anticorrosion composition, and forming a tertiary anticorrosion layer.
