CUP AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURING THE SAME
Provided are a cup made of metal and a method of manufacturing the same capable of reducing material costs and molding costs, preventing deformation while reducing weight, preventing a user's mouth or hand from touching an edge of a metal material, and preventing hygiene problems. A cup made of metal open on an upper surface side includes a bottom portion and a body portion, the cup including a curled portion at the tip end on an upper opening side of the body portion. The curled portion includes a curvature region from the body portion toward the tip end, and a section at least from the body portion to a lowermost portion of the curled portion in the curvature region has a radius of curvature that decreases stepwise or continuously.
METHOD FOR PRODUCING AN AEROSOL DOME
Method for producing an aerosol dome having a dome region with an upwardly adjoining rolled rim arranged at an upper passage opening and with a downwardly adjoining flange region with an everted portion. An intermediate stage is prepared in one or more stages from a lacquer-coated blank (R), the intermediate stage having the upper passage opening, followed downwardly by a neck portion, then followed by the dome region, which is followed by an encircling straight flange. The intermediate stage is processed in a processing stage (S9) in which only the everted portion is formed.
Method for producing a rolled edge
The invention relates to a method for producing a rolled edge from a cylindrical edge portion (11) of a pipe. In the method, a starting zone (14) of the edge portion (11) is rolled by a forcibly controlled tool (30). A flanging die (21) then advances into the rolled edge portion (11) and flanges the rolled edge portion into a roll (12). The method according to the invention is characterized in that the starting zone (14) of the edge portion (11) is folded over by the tool (30), which comprises a folding die (37) and counterholder (34), at an angle (α) in the range from 75-105° from the axial direction (45) into a substantially radially peripheral flange (41). The invention further relates to elements, in particular in the forme of an aerosol dome, having such rolled edges.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR PRODUCING A ROLLED CURL ON AN OPEN END OF METAL CONTAINER
A method for forming a curl on an open end of a metal container, for adapting the metal bottle to be closed by a cap, comprising in sequence: inserting the open end of the metal container into a powered first curler roller housing, wherein the first curler roller housing houses a set of first curler rollers, to deform the open end by turning it outwardly so as to obtain a first stage curl; inserting the open end of the metal container having the first stage curl into a powered second curler roller housing, wherein the second curler roller housing houses a set of second curler rollers, to further deform the open end and first stage curl by turning them outwardly and/or curling them so as to obtain a second stage curl; inserting the open end of the metal container or bottle having the second stage curl into a powered third curler roller housing, wherein the third curler roller housing houses a set of third curler rollers, to further deform the open end and second stage curl by turning them outwardly, curling them and/or compressing the second stage curl radially and/or longitudinally downward towards a bottom of the metal container so as to obtain a third stage curl.
Apparatus for manufacturing metallic can
Provided are a method a for manufacturing metallic cans and resulting structure apparatus, where the method provides a continuous manufacturing process carried out instead of individually carrying out separate processing, thereby preventing the provision of any additional equipment and improving the efficiency in the manufacturing of metallic cans. A method for manufacturing metallic cans can be realized by simultaneously carrying out the sealing lip processing and the curling part processing by a press method, thereby simplifying the manufacturing facilities, manufacturing procedure or the like.
Concave Can End
A container can end includes a concave dome shape and may forgo a peripheral reinforcing bead around the center panel. The tab may also be curved. Tooling for forming the end and a corresponding method are provided.
Electronic cam-type can seamer
A crimping unit (1) having a first plate (10); a first lever (50) equipped with a winding wheel (54), a second lever (60) equipped with a crushing wheel (64), a winding actuator connected to the first lever (50), and a crushing actuator connected to the second lever (60). The winding actuator and the crushing actuator are governed by an electronic control unit (7) to vary the distance between the winding wheel (54) and/or the crushing wheel (65) of the first axis according to the angular position of the first plate (10) around the first axis.
Shaped metal container, microstructure, a method for making a shaped metal container
The principles of the present invention further provide both a shaped metal container and its preforms that exhibit a rounded grain structure characteristic created by an annealing process and a method for making a shaped metal container. The process of making said metal container results in a quicker process time and uses less metals (at least 10% metal weight savings), thus allowing for a decrease in the costs of making such shaped metal containers. A shaped metal container may include work hardened rolled sheet-metal defining a sidewall, an opening, and a base, where at least one section along the sidewall has grains with an average aspect ratio less than about 4 to 1.
TAPERED CUP AND METHOD OF FORMING THE SAME
A metal cup and method of forming the same is provided. Metal cups of the present disclosure comprise a plurality of thin, straight-walled sections and a tapered profile. A domed portion is provided in the bottom of the cup. The cup may comprise a disposable cup, a reusable cup, or a recyclable cup.
CAN BODY
A can body has a curl portion to which a skirt portion of a cap is mounted. In the curl portion, an outer periphery upper-side bent portion that forms an outer peripheral portion of a folded-back top portion, an outer periphery-side tubular portion that extends downward in a can axis direction, an outer periphery lower-side bent portion that is bent inward in a radial direction, and a curl end portion that extends from an inner peripheral edge of the outer periphery lower-side bent portion are continuously formed. When a radius of curvature of an outer surface of the outer periphery upper-side bent portion is R5 (mm), a radius of curvature of an outer surface of the outer periphery lower-side bent portion is R6 (mm), and a radius of curvature of an outer surface of the inflection portion is R7 (mm), which is 0.05 to 0.2 mm, R7<R6<R5 is established.
