System for reprofiling a wheel set of a railway vehicle
A system for reprofiling a wheel set of a railway vehicle allows the center of rotation of the wheel set to move relative to supporting rollers. A cutting tool used to reprofile the wheel profile on a wheel set is moved relative to the center of rotation of the wheel set to maintain a constant distance between the center of rotation and the cutter. The rollers are maintained in a fixed position during the cutting process. The system avoids mechanically forcing a constant location of the wheel set relative to the center of rotation.
SYSTEM AND METHOD OF RE-PROFILING LOCOMOTIVE RAILCAR WHEELS
An apparatus reconfigures or configures a wheel associated with a train. The apparatus comprises a tool configured to engage the wheel a compound slide system for positioning the cutting tool in at least two axes. The compound slide system is controlled so that the wheel is configured in accordance with a profile. The slide system can be moved mechanically and/or pneumatically and/or can use a mechanical profile. The apparatus can have a low profile and a low weight.

Device and method for calibrating an underfloor wheelset lathe without a calibration wheelset
The invention relates to a device (22) for calibrating an underfloor wheelset lathe (3) without a calibration wheelset, comprising; a motor (23) with a rotational axis (D), a friction roller (24), and a measuring bridge (18), wherein the friction roller (24) is connected p a driveshaft of the motor (23). The aim of the invention is to allow a simpler calibration without a calibration wheelset. This is achieved in that the friction roller (24) has an approximately cylindrical frictional surface with a defined nominal diameter. The invention additionally relates to an underfloor wheelset lathe (3) comprising such a device (22) and to a method for calibrating an underfloor wheelset lathe (3).
METHOD FOR PRODUCING AT LEAST ONE DISC-SHAPED OR ANNULAR DISC-SHAPED COMPONENT
A method for producing at least one disk-shaped or annular disk-shaped component, in particular a disk-shaped or annular disk-shaped wheel, that includes providing at least one blank which has a central axis and is to be machined mechanically, in particular by cutting; arranging or damping the blank in at least one clamping situation in which the central axis of the blank is at an angle to a vertical axis; mechanically machining the clamped blank, in particular by cutting, to produce the disk-shaped or annular disk-shaped component.

Cutting insert for profiling turning and cartridge for receiving a cutting insert
A cutting insert for profile turning, in particular for wheel profile turning, includes an upper surface, a lower surface, and side surfaces. At the transition from the upper surface to the side surfaces two cutting edges are formed for machining a workpiece and two further edges each having two ends. The two cutting edges are designed part-circular in shape and each extend from one end of one of the two edges to the opposite end of the other of the two edges. Also described is a cartridge for holding a cutting insert, the cartridge being mountable on a machine tool. The cartridge has a main seating surface having a plane angle () of greater than 90 to the axis of rotation (D) of the workpiece.
