Cutting insert adaptor and tool assembly
A cutting insert adaptor for an insert pocket can include one or more pairs of opposing insert abutment surfaces and pocket abutment surfaces which converge at an acute angle. The one or more insert abutment surfaces are all rotated in the same direction, relative to their paired pocket abutment surface which in turn rotates a cutting insert abutting the cutting insert adaptor relative to an orientation the cutting insert would have if it only abutted the insert pocket instead of the cutting insert adaptor.

[Means for Resolution] Provided is a cutting tool where a replaceable cutting insert having a hole for fixing is mountable. The cutting tool includes a main body portion, a lever, a pin, and a screw. The main body portion has a placement surface where the cutting insert is placed, a side wall coming into contact with at least one side surface of the cutting insert, a lever accommodating hole, a pin accommodating hole, and a screw accommodating hole. The screw presses a rear end portion of the pin by being tightened. A tip portion of the pin presses the lever by the rear end portion being pressed against the screw. The lever has a concave surface configured by a line segment parallel to a reference axis and, by the concave surface being pressed against the tip portion of the pin, a head protruding into the hole of the placed cutting insert presses an inner wall of the hole and presses and fixes the cutting insert against and to the placement surface and the side wall.
Insert adaptor and turning tool comprising same
An insert adaptor is configured for providing secure clamping of an insert in an insert pocket. The insert adaptor is configured to be located between an insert and an insert pocket and includes at least one magnetic surface configured for applying a magnetic attraction force to the insert pocket or a shim.
CUTTING TOOL AND DISTANCE COMPENSATING ELEMENT FOR POSITIONING REGROUND CUTTING INSERTS IN A CUTTING TOOL
The invention relates to a distance compensating element for positioning reground cutting inserts in a cutting tool and to a cutting tool comprising such a distance compensating element. The cutting tool is provided with a cutting insert (16) and a tool holder (12), and the cutting insert (16) is releasably secured to the tool holder (12) in a cutting insert receiving area (14) by means of a clamping element (17) wherein the cutting insert receiving area (14) has a support surface (23) which substantially corresponds to the base shape of the cutting insert (16) and comprises at least one wall section (24) that extends vertically relative to the support surface (23) and is designed to align the cutting insert (16) in the cutting insert receiving area (14), and a blade (18, 19) of the cutting insert (16) protrudes freely. A distance compensating element (25) is arranged between the cutting insert (16) and the cutting insert receiving area (14) in order to position a reground cutting insert (16) in the cutting insert receiving area (14) in the correct position, said compensating element compensating for a removal of material when the cutting insert (16) is reground.
CUTTING TOOL
Provided is a cutting tool that implements both high positioning accuracy and simple operation when the cutting tool is installed in a tool rest. The cutting has: a tool a main body which includes a fixing seat fixing a cutting insert or a cutting edge; and a position pin, which includes a cylindrical portion that is used for positioning the main body by being abutted to an abutting surface of a tool rest in a case of installing the main body in the tool rest, and which is detachable from the main body. The main body includes a female screw hole that is provided with a female screw portion and a tapered surface that is symmetric with respect to a center axis of the female screw portion and that widens toward an opening thereof. The positioning pin includes a male screw portion that engages with the female screw portion, and a contact portion located at a connecting portion that connects an end of the cylindrical portion and an end of the male screw portion. In a case where the male screw portion is engaged with the female screw portion and the positioning pin is installed in the main body, the contact portion contacts the tapered surface, and a center axis of the cylindrical portion and a center axis of the tapered portion match with each other.
TOOL BODY, INSERT SUPPORT MECHANISM AND CUTTING TOOL
A cutting tool has an insert receiving pocket provided with a base surface. The base surface has a screw hole, and second and third engagement surfaces which are brought into contact with a first engagement surface formed in the lower surface of the cutting insert, thereby suppressing shifting of the cutting insert during cutting. The base surface is divided into four areas by a first boundary which passes through the screw hole's center point, and a second boundary is perpendicular to the first boundary and also passing though the center point. The second engagement part is formed on the outer side surface side relative to the first boundary and on the base end side relative to the second boundary, and the third engagement part is formed on the outer side surface side relative to the first boundary and on the leading end surface side relative to the second boundary.
MACHINING TOOL
A tool for machining has a main body, a seat formed on the main body, a fastening screw, and a cutting insert. The seat has a base surface for supporting an underside of the cutting insert and a lateral bearing surface. A bore for receiving the fastening screw is formed in the base surface, the bore has a threaded bore portion and, closer toward the base surface, a thread-free bore portion. The cutting insert is fastened to the seat such that the head portion of the fastening screw is supported on the through-hole in the cutting insert. The threaded portion of the fastening screw engages with the threaded bore and the fastening screw is elastically deflected such that a thread-free shank portion bears against the thread-free bore portion on a side remote from the lateral bearing surface and is spaced apart from the thread-free bore portion.
CUTTING TOOL
[Problem] A cutting tool to which a cutting insert can be firmly fixed is provided.
CLAMPING DEVICE AND CUTTING TOOL
A clamping device is configured to clamp a cutting insert onto a holder of a cutting tool. The clamping device contains a clamping bolt and a locking bolt, wherein the clamping bolt is configured to be inserted into each of the cutting insert and the holder. The locking bolt is configured to be inserted into the holder, such that the locking bolt pre-strains the clamping bolt into clamping the cutting insert onto the holder. The clamping bolt is configured rotatable about a longitudinal clamping axis of the clamping bolt relative to each of the cutting insert and the locking bolt, such that the clamping bolt wedge engages with the locking bolt during a clamping bolt rotation about the longitudinal clamping axis.
