The positional sensor board includes a curved inner edge shaped to be positioned around the bearing pocket and includes positional sensors mounted around the curved inner edge and facing the rotor to sense a rotational position of the rotor. The curved inner edge is disposed on a side corner of the positional sensor board such that the positional sensor board is asymmetrically-shape in a direction of the receiving axis.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR CUTTING COMPOSITE MATERIALS
20170225246 · 2017-08-10 · ·

Embodiments of this disclosure provide a system and method for cutting composite materials. The system includes a material supporting surface, an oscillating saw suspended from a rotatable head on an arm, a two-axis gimbal coupled to the rotatable head for adjusting a cutting angle of the oscillating saw, and a material clamp for clasping the composite material to prevent the composite material from slipping while being cut with the oscillating saw. An automated embodiment of the system further includes a controller for instructing the oscillating saw to cut the composite material by guiding the saw via coordinated movement of the rotatable head, the arm, and the gimbal. A method of cutting a woven composite material includes feeding the material on a support surface, providing an oscillating saw blade on a guiding mechanism, and cutting the material by moving the saw blade in a direction based on the guiding mechanism.

Power tool blade type detection and automatic speed adjustment

Systems and methods are provided for an electric tool (e.g., a power tool) that includes an output driver for receiving an accessory, and an accessory-type detector. A motor of the electric tool is coupled to the output driver for driving the accessory. The power tool also includes an operation trigger for activating the motor and a motor controller. The motor controller includes an electronic processor that is coupled to the accessory-type detector, the motor, the operation trigger, and a memory. The memory stores instructions that when executed by the electronic processor cause the motor controller to detect a characteristic of the accessory from output of the accessory-type detector. The motor controller determines an operational characteristic for the accessory based on the detected characteristic, and controls operation of the motor to drive the accessory according to the operational characteristic when the operation trigger is activated.

Control and power module for driving a brushless motor in a power tool

A power tool is provided including a motor housing having a substantially-cylindrical main body having an open end and a rear end. A brushless DC motor is provided including a stator assembly received through the open end of the motor housing and secured within the main body of the motor housing. A motor control and power module disposed proximate the rear end of the motor housing includes a printed circuit board (PCB) on which power switch and a controller are mounted. A mounting bracket is secured to the motor housing at the rear end to support the module such that the PCB is substantially parallel to the rear end. The mounting bracket includes a mating portion projecting axially to come to contact with the motor housing around the rear end to structurally support the mounting bracket with respect to the motor housing.

A foldable miter saw with safety device includes a base unit having a working surface and an axial holder, and a cutting unit including a rotating member, a blade, a driving unit and a safety assembly that has a safety switch and a safety member. When the safety switch is not operated, the driving unit cannot drive the blade to rotate. During the period when the rotating member rotates to drive the blade from a working position to a folded position, a free end of the safety member can be rotated downward under the action of gravity, so that the safety member can rotate to an anti-touch position where the free end is relatively close to the safety switch so that the safety switch cannot be operated, and the driving unit cannot drive the blade to rotate, which can avoid accidentally touching the blade to rotate.

A foldable miter saw with safety device includes a base unit, and a cutting unit including a rotating member, a blade, a handle, a driving unit, and a safety assembly that includes a safety switch and a safety member with a retaining section. When the safety switch is not operated, the driving unit cannot drive the blade to rotate. During the period when the rotating member drives the blade from a working position to a folded position, the safety member can fall downward under the action of gravity and move to an engaged position, the retaining section is relatively close to the safety switch so that the safety switch cannot be operated, which can also prevent the driving unit from driving the blade to rotate and can avoid accidentally triggering the blade to rotate during transportation after folding.
