The second clamping member includes a tooth stop for adjusting the position of the chain saw tooth within the sharpening area. The tooth stop includes a pawl support block and a pawl having at least one working portion engageable with the chain at different positions along a lateral axis of the pawl support block to provide clearance for a sharpening tool within the sharpening area.
Multi-functional chainsaw field maintenance tool
A multi-functional tool that is particularly useful for in-field service and maintenance of a chainsaw, the tool having a handle section and a head section, wherein the handle section includes a plurality of tubular openings adapted to receive a multiplicity of repair tools, such as a chain file, depth gauge, screwdriver, wrench tool, etc., without requiring the removal of all other tools. The head section includes a pair of spaced-apart spikes to allow the tool to be secured to a wooden structure, such as a tree stump and a clamp to secure the chainsaw while service or maintenance is performed. The multi-functional chainsaw field maintenance tool further includes a device to facilitate transport of the multi-functional tool, such as a belt clip, shoulder strap or magnetic attachment device.
CHAIN SHARPENING JIG AND METHOD OF USING THE CHAIN SHARPENING JIG
The present disclosure relates a chain sharpening jig as well as method of using an existing chainsaw sharpener for machining tooth profile of chainsaw chains. The chain sharpening jig includes a slide base configured to be clamped to a universal chainsaw sharpener. A slide clamp is slidably arranged on the slide base. A chain holder is connected to the slide clamp and the chain holder is configured to receive the chainsaw chain. The chainsaw chain is configured to be machined by the grinding wheel of the universal chainsaw sharpener.
A Chainsaw Cutting Link, A Saw Chain, A Method of Manufacturing a Cutting Link, and Use of a Cutting Link
A chainsaw cutting link (1b) comprises a cutting tooth (7b) with a side plate (12b) and a top plate (10b), defining an L-shaped cutting edge (13b, 14b). The top plate (10b) comprises an outer surface (11b) with a first outer surface portion and a depressed second outer surface portion (16). A saw chain comprises a plurality of such cutting links (1b). Use of such cutting links (1b) or such a saw chain increases the ability of making bore cuts. A method of manufacturing a cutting link (1b) comprises: punching a piece of material to form a cutting link (1b) blank with a top plate portion (10b) and a side plate portion (12b); bending the top plate portion (10b) to form an L-shaped cutting edge (13b, 14b); and grinding thereof. An area of the top plate (10b), corresponding to the second outer surface (16) is depressed.
Chainsaw Cutting Link, A Saw Chain Comprising Such a Cutting Link, A Method for Manufacturing of a Cutting Link, and a Method of Grinding a Cutting Link
A chainsaw cutting link (21) comprises: a base portion (29) provided with two rivets holes (20a, 20b) for pivotal inter-connection with adjacent links (13), and a cutting tooth (35) extending away from the base portion (29), wherein the cutting tooth (35) comprises a top plate (41) and a side plate (43) defining an angle to form an L-shaped cutting edge (45, 47, 49) facing in a cutting direction (B). The top plate (41) comprises a top plate cutting edge (45) which is sharper than at least a portion (53) of the side plate cutting edge (47).
File for filing the cutting tooth of a saw chain
The disclosure relates to a file for filing a saw tooth of a saw chain. The file includes a file body defining a circumferential direction and a circumference. The file body, in a cross section, has an unhewn guide surface and a file surface adjoining the unhewn guide surface in the circumferential direction. The unhewn guide surface extends over at least ⅙ of the circumference in the cross section.
Automatic sharpener for chain-saw chain
The invention relates to an automatic sharpener for cutting teeth of a chain-saw chain of the type that has links and cutting teeth comprising a depth gauge. The sharpener comprises a receiving region comprising a chain support that can receive a chain-saw chain of the above-mentioned type, a driving means allowing a preferably automatically regulated horizontal translation, forwards and in stages, of said chain-saw received in the receiving region, a sharpener means arranged so as to sharpen the cutting teeth at different sharpening angles, after each translation of a chain-saw chain, and a means for planing the depth gauge of a cutting tooth, the planing means and the sharpening means each comprising a flat file and a round file which are detachably secured in a file carrier.
Reciprocating Filing Tool
A reciprocating filing tool. The reciprocating filing tool includes a housing having a first end opposite a second end, wherein a handle is affixed to the second end. A shaft is slidably disposed within the housing, and a motor is operably connected to the shaft. The motor causes the shaft to move in a reciprocating linear movement when the motor is activated. A trigger disposed on the handle, wherein the trigger activates the motor when actuated. A plurality of files are removably securable to a distal end of the shaft. A plurality of clips are disposed on an exterior of the housing and can removably receive the plurality of files therein.
