Powered threaded rod cutter
A powered threaded rod cutter includes first and second cutting dies, an electric motor, a planetary transmission positioned downstream of the motor, a drivetrain for converting a rotational output of the transmission to a pivoting movement of the first cutting die, and a clutch mechanism for redirecting torque from the motor away from a drivetrain and the first cutting die in response to the first cutting die seizing during a rod-cutting operation. The clutch mechanism includes a ring gear in the planetary transmission, and a spring that rotationally affixes the ring gear below a predetermined threshold of reaction torque through the drivetrain and permits rotation of the ring gear above the threshold.
Rescue tool
A rescue tool (10) comprises a drive system which is provided inside a housing and which is configured and suitable for actuating a linear displacement of an implement drive member. The drive system is connected for axial rotation to a rotation shaft of an energizable drive source (22), wherein the rotation shaft of the energizable drive source (22) is coupled for force transmission to an axially rotatable spindle (30). The spindle (30) is coupled rotatably to the housing (15) by means of an axial bearing assembly (25, 26) and the drive body (40) is coupled for force transmission to the spindle (30) and to the implement drive member. The drive body is configured and suitable for converting an axial rotation of the spindle (30) to a linear translation of its own.
HIGH SPEED MULTI-AXIS MACHINE TOOL
An apparatus and method are provided for three dimensional planing of a workpiece. The apparatus includes a base, a displaceable machine table supported on that base, a displaceable spindle supported on the base adjacent the machine table, a cutting tool held in a chuck carried on the spindle and a control module. The control module includes a controller and a plurality of actuators to provide precise displacement of the machine table, spindle, cutting tool and the workpiece for planing surface features into the workpiece.
Curtain airbag device mounting structure and curtain airbag deployment method
A curtain airbag device mounting structure includes: a first pillar forming a part of a front pillar and extends substantially along a vehicle height direction; a second pillar forming another part of the front pillar, the second pillar being disposed on a rear side of a vehicle relative to the first pillar at a predetermined distance from the first pillar and extending substantially along the vehicle height direction; a transparent member bridged between the first pillar and the second pillar; and a curtain airbag device including a curtain airbag stored along a roof side rail and the second pillar, the curtain airbag being configured to inflate and deploy in a curtain-like fashion over a side portion of a cabin of the vehicle in case of a collision of the vehicle.

Apparatus and method for transporting a vessel to and from a PECVD processing station
Methods for processing a vessel, for example to provide a gas barrier or lubricity, are disclosed. First and second PECVD or other vessel processing stations or devices and a vessel holder comprising a vessel port are provided. An opening of the vessel can be seated on the vessel port. The interior surface of the seated vessel can be processed via the vessel port by the first and second processing stations or devices. Vessel barrier, lubricity and hydrophobic coatings and coated vessels, for example syringes and medical sample collection tubes are disclosed. A vessel processing system and vessel inspection apparatus and methods are also disclosed.
