System and method for connecting metal workpieces
A method of forming an assembly in which a metal extension element is connected with a metal stub element, by an intermediate element. The intermediate element extends between first and second ends. The intermediate element is positioned to locate its first end spaced apart from the stub element. An inner end of the extension element is spaced apart from the second end of the intermediate element. Heating elements are located between the elements, to heat the proximal portions of the elements to a hot working temperature, at which the heated portions are subject to plastic deformation. The heating elements are removed, and while the intermediate element is rotating, the first end is urged against the stub element to bond the intermediate element with the stub element. While the extension element is rotating, the inner end is urged against the second end to bond the extension element and the intermediate element.
Pipe support system, and method of use
A pipe support system. The pipe support system comprises a first wedge block and a second opposing wedge block. Each of the wedge blocks comprises a base having walls, and forming an angled top surface. The angled top surfaces face one another and support respective replaceable caps. The caps are configured to support a joint or section of pipe along an outer diameter of the pipe. Beneficially, the distance or spacing between the wedge blocks may be adjusted by an operator to accommodate sections of pipe having different diameters. A method for supporting a section of pipe is also provided.
LASER PIPE CUTTING DEVICE
A laser pipe cutting device is provided. It includes a cutting head, a lathe bed, a first chuck, a second chuck and a third chuck; the first chuck is a fixed chuck for positioning axially and radially a pipe fitting; the second chuck is a rolling chuck for positioning radially the pipe fitting; and a fixed clamping disc and a rolling clamping disc are arranged on the third chuck at both ends. In the scheme, the third chuck integrates both the rolling clamping function and the fixed clamping function to achieve larger supporting weight and more accurate clamping precision, so that the chucks can drive a thin pipe fitting to rotate at a higher speed, the cutting efficiency is improved, and no-dead-angle and zero-tailing cutting is achieved.
System, method and apparatus for welding tubes
A system for manufacturing boiler tubes includes a first spindle for receiving a first tube having a first weld preparation, a second spindle for receiving a second tube having a second weld preparation, the first spindle and the second spindle being rotatable synchronously, and a welding device having a first weld head. The welding device is configured to automatically weld the first tube to the second tube according to a control routine stored in memory to produce a boiler tube.
JOINING STRUCTURE
A joining structure includes a first member, a second member of a material different from that of the first member, and a separation mechanism provided between the first member and the second member and that separates the first member and the second member from each other, wherein a resin is filled into the space between the edge of at least one member among the first member and the second member, and the other member.
ROLLOUT WHEEL
A rollout wheel apparatus for performing welding. The rollout wheel apparatus may comprise a mount; a support section; a spindle extending from the support section; a substantially circular hub disposed on the spindle and free to rotate about the spindle, the hub having a narrow portion facing the support section and a wide portion facing the chuck, the hub further including a brake pad disposed about the circumference of the narrow portion; a brake, the brake being affixed to the support section and having a cantilever design, wherein the brake is cantilevered from the support section to a point located radially outwards from the brake pad of the substantially circular hub; and a chuck, the chuck comprising a chuck locking mechanism and a plurality of jaws.
Assembly for Engaging the Interior of a Pipe
An assembly is provided that includes first and second end plates adapted to be coaxially aligned when in use. One or more members extend from the end plates or an annular ring, the annular ring provided between the end plates, the other of the end plates or annular ring comprising one or more first slots at one end thereof to be aligned with and for receiving the one or more members of the first end plate, and one or more second slots at the other end thereof to be aligned with and for receiving the one or more members. Resilient sealing members are provided around the one or more members between the end plates and annular ring, and an urging mechanism urges the first and second end plates towards the annular ring to deform the first and second resilient sealing members to engage the inner wall of the pipe.
WELD BEAD INSPECTION DEVICE
The present invention relates to a weld bead inspection device that inspects welding quality by measuring the state of beads formed at a welding part of a metallic or non-metallic pipe, or the like, and more specifically, to a weld bead inspection device that more efficiently inspects a welding part joined by a method such as thermal fusion for connection between pipes or connection between a pipe and a fitting. The weld bead inspection device includes a housing unit that forms an appearance; an imaging unit that images shapes of the weld beads in an inner space that is open downward from a middle inner side of the housing unit; a control unit that is provided in the housing unit to store image data captured by the imaging unit or to calculate external shapes of the weld beads for determining welding quality on the basis of the image data.
Hot-rolled steel sheet having excellent expandability and method for manufacturing same
The present invention relates to steel used for a sash component and the like of a vehicle and, more specifically, to a hot-rolled steel sheet for a high-strength electric resistance welded steel pipe having excellent expandability and a method for manufacturing same, the hot-rolled steel sheet having a smaller decrease in the strength of a welding heat-affected zone (HAZ) formed during electric resistance welding, in comparison with a base material.
Stents having a hybrid pattern and methods of manufacture
An intravascular stent and method of making an intervascular stent having a hybrid pattern a. The hybrid pattern comprises a plurality of circumferentially self-expansible members comprising a plurality of interconnected, geometrically deformable closed cells, adjacent self-expansible members interconnected by a plurality of bridge members linking a first interconnection between two closed cells in a first self-expansible member to a second interconnection between two closed cells in a second self-expansible member, wherein the second interconnection is circumferentially offset and non-adjacent to the first interconnection.
