Clamping Arrangement
20230182250 · 2023-06-15 ·

The invention relates to a clamping arrangement with a clamping device (1) which is able to be fastened on a clamping base, and with a clamping element (26) able to be tightened thereon. The clamping device (1) has a clamping module (2), provided with clamping members (15), which is able to be fixed by means of a fixing element (3) on the clamping base, wherein the fixing element (3) is configured such that the clamping module (2) is thus fixed in the X-Y plane in a floating manner on the clamping base. The clamping module (2) is displaceable in the fixed state of the fixing element (3) with respect to the fixing element (3) in the X-Y plane, but is non-displaceable in Z-direction, wherein the fixing element (3) is provided with Z-support surfaces (24) for the clamping element (26). Such a clamping arrangement is suitable in a particularly advantageous manner as a module for constructing a large clamping system, with which thermally caused dimension changes of the workpiece carrier with respect to the clamping base can be equalized with high repeat accuracy, without the clamping system being overconstrained geometrically/mechanically in the X-Y plane.

Rotor V-block fixture and method

A mechanism retains an asymmetric work piece in a fixed orientation during a machining process on diversely positioned surfaces falling on multiple work piece axes. The mechanism includes a body having an upper surface forming an elongated V-shaped groove, a planar lower surface spaced from the upper surface, and a through passage extending between the upper and lower surfaces. A fastener includes an elongated shaft which extends within said passage, and has an upper end emerging within the V-shaped groove for engaging the work piece, and a lower end extending below and configured to abut the lower surface to maintain the shaft under tensile loading. A plurality of discrete mechanisms can be commonly mounted on a machining table in a spaced-apart relationship with the V-shaped grooves in axial alignment to support a single super elongated work piece. The fastener can be axially advanced or retarded to vary tensile loading.

PART-HOLDING DEVICE AND MACHINE TOOL PROVIDED WITH SAID PART-HOLDING DEVICE

A part-holding device includes a holding portion configured to hold an object to be held and a main body configured to detachably connected to the holding portion. The main body has a first surface, a second surface, and a third surface oriented in respective differing directions, and the holding portion has a first abutting surface, a second abutting surface and a third abutting surface capable of abutting against the first surface, the second surface, and the third surface, respectively. The part-holding device further includes pressing means configured to press the holding portion to cause the first abutting surface to abut against the first surface and to cause the second abutting surface to abut against the second surface, and fixing means configured to cause the third abutting surface to abut against the third surface and to fix the holding portion to the main body.

A clamping device has a clamp surface with a base jaw and a countering jaw attached to a clamp surface. The base jaw has one or more through holes from its front base face to its rear base face so that a base accessory may be attached to the base jaw using the through holes in the base jaw. Likewise, the countering jaw also has one or more through holes from its front countering face to its rear countering face so that a countering accessory may be attached to the countering jaw using the through holes in the countering jaw. Because the clamping device has a plurality of through holes in the jaws, an accessory (such as a story stick) may be easily removably or fixedly attached to the face of either jaw by placing the accessory to the front face of a jaw and have pins or screws inserted through the rear face of the jaw to tighten the accessory onto the face of the jaw. There is no need to blindly matching the holes on the front face of a jaw with the holes on the accessory or drill a matching hole into the accessory prior to placing it on the jaw.
