Polishing method and polishing pad
A disc-shaped polishing pad (1) is used for a polishing method of the present invention. The polishing pad (1) has a peripheral surface (111) on a polishing surface (10) side in an axial direction of the disc of a tapered surface whose diameter is reduced to the polishing surface (10). An angle formed by the peripheral surface (111) and the polishing surface (10) is 125° or more and less than 180°. The polishing pad (1) has a hardness immediately after a pressing surface is in close contact of 40 or more by a testing method specified in an appendix 2 of JIS K7312: 1996, “Spring Hardness Test Type C Testing Method”. A slurry containing abrasives is supplied to a polished surface larger than the polishing surface (10). The polishing surface (10) is pressed against the polished surface and the polishing pad (1) is moved to polish the polished surface.
SUBSTRATE GRINDING DEVICE AND SUBSTRATE GRINDING METHOD
Provided is a substrate grinding device including: a work table; a first grinding wheel; and a second grinding wheel, wherein the work table is configured to rotate while sucking and holding a substrate, the first grinding wheel and the second grinding wheel are cup wheel type wheels, and provided at positions where the first grinding wheel and the second grinding wheel can be simultaneously in contact with the substrate rotating, the first grinding wheel and the second grinding wheel being configured to grind the substrate rotating, while rotating, and the work table is configured to be able to move a rotation center of the substrate from a first grinding position within a grinding range of the first grinding wheel to a second grinding position within a grinding range of the second grinding wheel.

Abrasive article and method of making the same
An abrasive article and method of making same wherein the abrasive article comprises a mounting assembly and an abrasive attachment assembly wherein the first interlock member of the mounting assembly and the second interlock member of the abrasive attachment assembly are configured to align the central axis of the abrasive attachment assembly and the central axis of the mounting assembly, and the first interlock member releasably engages the second interlock member. The abrasive article is adapted to clean a work surface area around studs using a rotary tool, including, for example, a drills or die grinder.
METHOD FOR SHAPING A WORKPIECE
There is described a method, apparatus and shaping tool for shaping a workpiece. The tool comprises a flexible support surface on which are mounted a number of rigid pellets (84) carrying abrasive material. The tool is driven, in contact with the workpiece surface (S), to perform a ductile grinding operation which results in a finished surface of reduced roughness as compared to conventional grinding operations, while achieving significantly higher material removal rates than comparable ultra-precision grinding techniques. A procedure for preparing the tool for operation by conditioning the tool against a conditioning surface is also described. An exemplary application for the method and apparatus is in the preparation of moulds for moulding curved glass components for use in display screens, in which process a silicon carbide mould cavity surface is shaped using the method to produce a mould cavity surface with a smooth surface finish.
Tool holder and handheld abrading machine
In order to provide a tool holder for holding a tool for treating the surface of a workpiece by means of which it is possible to treat workpieces in a low-vibratory and convenient manner, it is proposed that the tool holder comprise a disk-shaped base body which has an attachment section for the attachment of the tool holder to a machine tool and at least one resiliently flexible deformation section.
Elastic Self-lubricating Polishing Tool
An elastic self-lubricating polishing tool includes an elastic grinding layer including an abrasive member and an elastic base layer affixed to the abrasive member, an absorbing layer absorbing and sustainedly releasing liquid inside of the absorbing layer, and an adhesive layer overlappedly connected with the elastic base layer of the elastic grinding layer and the absorbing layer. The elastic self-lubricating polishing tool is elastic and self-lubricating to sand and polish a surface of a workpiece.
Polishing pad
A polishing pad including a damping layer made of a resilient material including expanded semi-rigid polyurethane having a microcell structure, an adhesive layer including a layer of a hook-and-loop fastener adapted to interact and connect to a corresponding layer of the hook-and-loop fastener located at a bottom surface of the working element of the machine tool and a polishing layer including microfiber adapted for polishing a surface of a work piece. The polishing layer includes a fabric having a woven mesh of microfibers that define a back side of the polishing layer. The fabric serves as a barrier to the resilient material of the damping layer such that the resilient material does not reach an active side of the polishing layer comprising the microfibers when the damping layer, adhesive layer and polishing layer are combined, and such that the active side of the polishing layer is free of resilient material of the damping layer.
FLOOR POLISHING APPARATUS
A brush assembly is provided for increasing an effective area and uniformity of performance in an abrasive floor polishing application at a given size of brush mount. The brush assembly includes a pad with slots for receiving abrasive blades. The pad includes variable protrusions to provide varied support to the abrasive blades. The blades have a trapezoidal body shape. The blades include abrading components including an abrasive material such as diamonds. In some embodiments, the abrading components include a metallic material, such as copper material. In some embodiments, the abrading components include a phenolic material.
