Methods and Machines For Constructing Pallets
20170312934 · 2017-11-02 ·

Machines and methods for constructing pallets include conveying stringers on a conveyor in a conveying direction to a pneumatic stop assembly including a pawl. The pawl is moveably mounted relative to the conveyor by a parallelogram linkage and moveable by a pneumatic actuator between first and second heights relative to the conveyor. While the pawl is at its first height, a lower board in a hopper is pushed from a shelf by a pusher and onto the stringers on the conveyor. While being pushed, the ends of the board slide along and between first and second slide rails on opposite sides of the conveyor. The board positioned on the stringers is sandwiched between the pusher and the pawl at the first height while being fastened together by a nail gun. After being fastened together, the pawl is moved to its second height which does not interfere with the fastened board and stringers being conveyed by the conveyor.

Construction element with pre-pressed boards

A construction element includes superposed wooden structural boards that are provided with grooved patterns at the contact interface between the boards in order to prevent the first board and the second board from sliding relative to each other along at least one axis. The construction element further includes a retention system for retaining the boards against each other at the contact interface. The grooved patterns are pre-pressed against each other and the retention system includes at least one metal threaded rod component at least partially passing through at least two of the wooden structural boards at the contact interface.

AUTOMATED SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR FLOOR AND CEILING UNITS IN THE CONSTRUCTION OF MODULAR BUILDING UNITS

A system and method for assembling framing assemblies for use as ceiling or floor structures of modular building units using automation are disclosed. The framing assemblies include trusses that are attached at the lateral edges thereof by a joist including at least one layer of dimensional lumber to form a substantially rigid framework. Cover panels are positioned over and attached to an inner surface of the framing assembly.

PALLET MACHINE WITH IMPROVED NAILING SYSTEM

A pallet machine (10) includes improved fastening systems (30, 106) for nailing the boards (16, 18) to the stringers (14). Each fastening system (30, 106) includes a vibratory nail bowl (38), a movable nail holder (40) and transfer block (42), and nailing assemblies (58). The transfer block (42) includes a pick plate (45) movable between blocking and feeding positions so that nails can be simultaneously fed to the nailing assemblies (58). The nailing assemblies (58) include recessed mounts (68, 70) and bearings (74) for better load transfer and distribution from recoil during high cyclical operation.

Laminated countertop assembly

A laminated countertop assembly can include a first generally longitudinal slab with a first substrate, where the first substrate has lamination on a countertop side of the first substrate and lamination on an edge side of the first substrate that extends along a first portion of a length of the edge side of the first substrate. The first substrate can also include a first miter cut angled into the first substrate and slots extending into the first substrate for receiving biscuits. The laminated countertop assembly can also include a second generally longitudinal slab with a second substrate, where the second substrate has lamination on a countertop side of the second substrate and lamination on an edge side of the second substrate. The second substrate can also include a second miter cut at a corner of the second substrate and slots extending into the second substrate for receiving the biscuits.

The invention refers to a method of joining a nogging to a stud to form a sub-module of a prefabricated building module. The method comprises the acts of: providing (1000) a stud (2) and orienting the stud with a longitudinal extension of the stud along a first direction (A); providing (2000) a nogging material having a longitudinal extension being greater than an intended length of the nogging, and orienting the nogging material with a longitudinal extension along a second direction (B) being transverse to the first direction (A); moving (3000) a first free end of the nogging material into abutment with a first side surface of the stud (2) and cutting the nogging material to form a first nogging (3a); fixating (5000) and joining the free end of the nogging (3a) with the stud (2); moving (6000) the stud (2) and the first nogging (3a) along the first direction (A); and moving (7000) the free end of the nogging material into abutment with the stud (2); cutting (8000) the nogging material at a distance from the abutment, thereby forming a second nogging (3b); and fixating (9000) and joining the stud (2) and the second nogging (3b).

ASSEMBLING DEVICE FOR MANUFACTURING A PANEL ASSEMBLY

An assembling device for manufacturing a panel assembly, which includes at least two tooling systems, which both include wooden slat gripping, positioning and securing means, and insulation panel gripping and positioning means, and a tooling controller communicatively coupled to the tooling systems, wherein the tooling systems are instructed so that, if the length of a wooden slat exceeds a predetermined threshold, the wooden slat gripping means grip the wooden slat at different parts, and are moved relatively to each other in order to align their centerlines and to correct the straightness of the wooden slat.
