A manufacturing method for a trim element, which includes the following steps: supplying a mold in an open configuration which has a first mold part and a second mold part; positioning a first pre-formed decoration against the first mold part; positioning a wedge in contact with an edge of the first decoration; positioning a second flexible décor; closing the mold in a closed configuration, where the second decoration sits between the two mold parts; and back-injecting a substrate into the molding cavity, where the second decoration is pushed by the substrate against the first decoration. The invention relates to a mould for moulding a component with one or more inserts, the mould comprising a mould body for defining in part the shape of the component, and at least one insert holder for holding an insert within the mould body. Each insert holder is movably supported such it can move relative to the mould body in a direction of shrinkage of the component, and wherein the mould further comprises a biasing means to bias each insert holder to a first position relative to the mould body. A film material insert molding method, includes an intermediate part forming step of forming a first intermediate part having an edge extending radially outward, the edge being disposed at and near an outer peripheral end of a final shape of a film material, a transparent resin layer forming step of forming a second intermediate part including a transparent resin layer, by injection molding, on a front surface of the first intermediate part, with the edge of the first intermediate part being fixed, and a substrate resin layer forming step of forming an insert-molded article including a substrate resin layer, by injection molding, on a back surface of the second intermediate part, the substrate resin layer covering a surface of a radially outer end of the edge.

The present invention relates to a method and a device for producing moulded parts. Moulded parts of this type are used predominantly in automotive construction, for example as interior trim parts. The method and device according to the invention are intended to facilitate the reduction of sizing inaccuracies during high productivity and the flexible design of the cut region of the moulded part that is to be formed.
