APPARATUS AND PROCESS FOR PRODUCING A FILTER ELEMENT
The present disclosure relates to an apparatus used in the production of a sterilizing filter for dead-end filtration of medical liquids which comprises a plurality of microporous hollow fiber membranes having a large inner diameter, and to a process for operating the apparatus.
Integrated squeezable containers and manufacture thereof
Systems and methods are presented herein for a method of attaching a strip to a housing. An internal support member is inserted into a collapsible housing, such that it is arranged along a longitudinal axis of an inner surface of the collapsible housing. An outer support member is arranged along an outer surface the collapsible housing opposite the internal support member. A strip is positioned along the outer surface using the outer support member and the internal support member. Then the strip is permanently welded to the outer surface using a welding element. Welding is performed by a welding element located in one (or both) of the internal support member or the outer support member.
Bonding apparatus, bonding system, bonding method and recording medium
A bonding apparatus includes a first holder, a first transforming device, a second holder, a second transforming device, a suction device and a control device. The first holder attracts and holds a first substrate from above. The first transforming device transforms the first substrate held by the first holder such that a central portion of the first substrate is protruded downwards. The second holder is provided under the first holder, and attracts and holds a second substrate, which is to be bonded to the first substrate, from below. The second transforming device transforms the second substrate held by the second holder such that a central portion of the second substrate is protruded upwards. The suction device generates different attracting forces in multiple division regions included in an attraction region of the second substrate. The control device controls the suction device.
Fitment with blend component and flexible container with same
The present disclosure provides a fitment. In an embodiment, a fitment is provided and includes a top portion, a base, and a channel extending through the top portion and the base for passage of a flowable material. The fitment is composed of a polymeric composition. The polymeric composition includes (i) from 70 to 90 weight percent of a high density polyethylene (HDPE) having a density from 0.940 g/cc to 0.970 g/cc, a melt temperature, Tm, greater than 125° C., and a melt index from 1 g/10 min to 50 g/10 min; and (ii) from 30 to 10 weight percent of an olefin-based elastomer having a density from 0.860 g/cc to 0.905 g/cc, a melt index from 0.2 g/10 min to 50 g/10 min, and a Tm less than 125° C.
METHODS AND APPARATUSES FOR ASSEMBLING ELASTIC LAMINATES WITH A ROTATING ROLL AND REMOVABLE LAYER
A system for ultrasonic bonding of elastic includes a rotating roll. The rotating roll has an exterior surface. A removable shell layer is attached to the external surface. The removable shell layer includes one or more patterned segments. The patterned segments include a shell channels formed through the removable shell layer to form a pattern.
Post-modulation station and an associated method of manufacture of a wind turbine blade
A post-moulding station is described which is used in the manufacturing of a wind turbine blade. A blade shell forming part of a wind turbine blade is initially moulded in a blade mould, the blade shell subsequently transferred to a post-moulding station which allows for various post-moulding operations to be carried out on the blade shell away from the mould, thereby increasing the productivity of the blade mould in the manufacturing process. The post-moulding station may be operable to perform the closing of first and second blade shells to form a wind turbine blade, and may be formed from an adjustable structure which can provide relatively easy access to the contained blade shell for working thereon. Accordingly, the manufacturing equipment may be of reduced cost, combined with an increase in the overall productivity of the manufacturing system.
Method and apparatus for suction alignment
A method of aligning a first and a second structure, the first structure comprising one or more first surface relief features and a channel system communicating with a surface of the first structure at one or more of the first surface relief features, the second structure comprising one or more second surface relief features shaped complementarily to the first surface relief features; the method comprising: generating suction in the channel system to draw the first and second structures together in a drawing direction; wherein, when the first and second structures are drawn together, the interaction between one or more of the first surface relief features and one or more of the second surface relief features aligns the structures in a plane perpendicular to the drawing direction such that the first and second surface relief features mate.
Microchip affixing probe and method of use
Provided among other things is a method of affixing a small, single chip to a plastic item, the chip having a top surface having length and width dimensions, and having a height, the method comprising: (1) vacuum adhering a top-oriented surface of the chip to a probe of outer dimensions comparable to or smaller than those of the length and width; (2) conveying heat to the chip via the probe such that a bottom-oriented surface of the chip is sufficiently hot to melt the plastic; (3) applying via the probe the chip to the plastic such that the chip embeds in the plastic; and (4) releasing the chip from the probe, wherein the largest of the length and width is about 500 microns or less, and height is no more than about the smallest of length and width.
Apparatus and methods for cold-shaping glass sheets
An apparatus for cold-shaping a glass sheet that includes: a plurality of vacuum chucks configured within a moveable table; a first automated pick mechanism proximate the table; an automated dispensing mechanism proximate the table; and a pressing apparatus. The first pick mechanism is configured to shape a glass sheet onto one of the chucks. The dispensing mechanism is configured to dispense a curable adhesive onto the glass sheet or a frame. One of the first pick mechanism and the dispensing mechanism is configured to position the frame onto the glass sheet such that the adhesive is disposed between the glass sheet and the frame. The pressing apparatus is configured to press the frame and the adhesive onto the glass sheet to define a finished glass sheet assembly. The glass sheet is bendable at ambient temperature. Methods for cold-shaping a glass sheet are also included in the disclosure.
Room temperature glass-to-glass, glass-to-plastic and glass-to-ceramic/semiconductor bonding
A process for room temperature substrate bonding employs a first substrate substantially transparent to a laser wavelength is selected. A second substrate for mating at an interface with the first substrate is then selected. A transmissivity change at the interface is created and the first and second substrates are mated at the interface. The first substrate is then irradiated with a laser of the transparency wavelength substantially focused at the interface and a localized high temperature at the interface from energy supplied by the laser is created. The first and second substrates immediately adjacent the interface are softened with diffusion across the interface to fuse the substrates.
