A laminate includes a support, a layer (b) including a pressure sensitive adhesive, particles (a2) having an average primary particle diameter of 100 nm to 380 nm, and a layer (ca) including a resin, in which the layer (b) is provided closer to the support than the layer (ca), the particles (a2) are buried in a layer obtained by combining the layer (b) and the layer (ca) and protrudes from an interface of the layer (ca) on the support side, and a portion including the particles (a2) and the layer (ca) is peelable from the layer (b).

Hydrophilic AIOL with bonding

An accommodating intraocular lens comprises a first lens component, a second lens component, and an adhesive between portions of the two lens components. The cured adhesive bonds the lens components to form a fluid chamber. The lens components are bonded to one another along a seam which extends circumferentially along at least a portion of the lens components. The lens components may comprise the same polymer material. The cured adhesive also comprises the polymer or a prepolymer of the polymer to provide increased strength. The polymer is hydratable such that the lens components and the cured adhesive therebetween can swell together to inhibit stresses between the lens components and the cured adhesive.

Methods are provided for manufacturing disposable diagnostic test elements via laser welding, where the methods include providing, in a stacked or layered arrangement, a base layer, a cover layer, and optionally an intermediate layer, where one of the layers is an absorbing layer and at least one other of the layers is a transparent layer, and where one of the layers includes a coating adapted to interact with a body fluid sample when conducting a test on the resulting test element; directing a laser beam in a weld area through the at least one transparent layer and against the absorbing layer; and fusing the transparent and the absorbing layers together to form the test element, where the coating covers the weld area at least in part and absorbs and/or scatters radiation from the laser beam at least in part. Disposable diagnostic test elements also are provided.
