Method for producing a trim part of a motor vehicle
A method for producing a three-dimensionally shaped trim part of a motor vehicle, which has a visible side and a mounting side. A flowable material is injected with pressure into a chamber of an injection molding tool, which has at least two mold shells, which, when assembled, form the chamber with a negative mold of the trim part, wherein at least one first of the mold shells forms the visible side and at least one second of the mold shells forms the mounting side of the trim part. The material is hardened in the chamber. A gas pressure is generated that acts in a planar manner between the second mold shell and the material during the hardening. The hardened material is removed as a trim part from the chamber of the injection molding tool.
Insert cutting and weatherstrip manufacturing method
A weatherstrip manufacturing method is a method for manufacturing a weatherstrip which includes a trim portion where an insert is embedded. The insert includes short connecting portions that connect strips at substantially regular intervals, and a long connecting portion having a larger length than each length of the short connecting portions. The method includes an extrusion molding step for covering the insert with a polymer material, a cut-off portion forming step for cutting off a part of a long interval portion including the long connecting portion in the long interval portion where the long connecting portion is embedded to form a cut-off portion, and a cutting step for cutting the cut-off portion in a crossing direction orthogonal to a longitudinal direction to divide the weatherstrip in the longitudinal direction.
SOLUTION FOR PROVIDING END WALL ON METAL TRIM PROFILE
A method including providing a trim profile, the trim profile including a bend extending in the longitudinal direction of the trim profile, wherein the bend is arranged between side edges extending in the longitudinal direction, and wherein the bend shapes an interior surface and an exterior surface of the trim profile, fixating a first part of the trim profile including the bend in a first fixation arrangement, and arranging and fixating a second part of the trim profile in a second fixation arrangement. A deep drawing operation providing a relative displacement between a stamping tool and at least one of the fixation arrangements in a direction transverse to the longitudinal direction so that the stamping tool moves into a working space, wherein the deep drawing operation forces a wall material of the trim profile into the working space to provide an end wall part on the trim profile.
Trim component for an interior of a motor vehicle, interior component for the interior, motor vehicle, and method for producing a trim component for an interior of a motor vehicle
A trim component for an interior of a motor vehicle has a film and has a carrier from a thermoplastic plastics material. The film has a relief structure, the carrier has a lattice structure having lattice members, and the carrier is back-molded on a rear side of the film such that the lattice members are connected in a materially integral manner to the rear side of the film.
SEALS AND METHOD FOR MAKING SAME
Extruded seals including a sealing portion with a honeycomb profile and method for making extruded seals with honeycomb profiles. An extrusion tool is provided with a first and second plate connected together. The first plate has a plurality of pins, which are vented to form a honeycomb profile. The second plate has a profiled opening receiving the plurality of pins and forming the overall shape of the part, including the outermost surfaces of the part. The pins serve as mandrels for extruded molten material to flow around. Varying the pin configuration and dimensions changes the honeycomb profile. The honeycomb structure is provided in the sealing portion of the extrusion. The honeycomb profile is formed by itself, co-extruded with a rigid or semi-rigid structural member, or applied to the rigid or semi-rigid structural member after the structural member is formed.
WEATHERSTRIP ASSEMBLY AND METHOD OF ISOLATING DISSIMILAR METALS IN THE WEATHERSTRIP ASSEMBLY
A weatherstrip assembly includes a body having a carrier or core formed from a first metal for providing strength and rigidity to the body. A show surface of the weatherstrip assembly is formed of a second metal different than the first metal. The second metal acts as the show surface of the weatherstrip assembly. An isolative, electrically low conductivity layer is received only on portions of the first metal that are disposed adjacent to portions of the second metal and potentially subject to electrical contact therebetween.
Method for forming a seal or cover on an opening of a vehicle body
A method for forming a seal or cover on an opening of a vehicle body. An extruded strand made of an elastomer material is adhered to a body support surface which receives the strand, and the support surface and/or a strand surface to be adhered is supplied with adhesive material prior to the adhesion process. The supply of adhesive material is controlled according to an adhesive material quantity requirement based on the strand length, the requirement changing in the longitudinal direction of the support surface, as a result of depressions and/or steps for example, and/or according to an arrangement of the strand surface to be adhered on the strand, the arrangement changing in the longitudinal direction of the support surface.
Fixed Window Assembly For A Vehicle And Method Of Manufacturing Same
The subject invention includes a fixed window assembly for a vehicle comprising a fixed glass, a trim portion having a polymeric base and a decorative member bonded to the polymeric base. An encapsulation is coupled to the fixed glass and the polymeric base to mount the trim portion in a spaced and adjacent position relative to the fixed glass. A method of manufacturing is also provided using first and second molding apparatuses. Polymeric material is injected into a first mold cavity of the first molding apparatus to form the polymeric base bonded to the decorative member. Polymeric material is injected into a second mold cavity of the second molding apparatus to form the encapsulation coupled to the fixed glass and simultaneously coupled to the polymeric base to mount the trim portion in an adjacent position to the fixed glass.
EXTRUSION MOLDED PRODUCT HAVING CORE MATERIAL
A thermoplastic elastomer composition forming the contact portion (6) comprises: 30 to 60 parts by weight of component (a): a block copolymer comprising at least two polymer blocks A mainly comprising a vinyl aromatic compound and at least one polymer block B mainly comprising a conjugated diene compound, and/or a hydrogenated block copolymer obtained by hydrogenating the block copolymer; 10 to 30 parts by weight of component (b): a homopolymer of crystalline ethylene or propylene, or a crystalline copolymer mainly comprising the ethylene or propylene; and 25 to 55 parts by weight of component (c): a rubber softener; and in addition to the above-mentioned (a)+(b)+(c)=100 parts by weight; 3 to 15 parts by weight of component (d): a petroleum resin and/or a hydrogenated petroleum resin obtained by hydrogenation.
